What you're doing is saying "Why shouldn't we change it?".

You've been given plenty of reasons, and they're all bull**** apparently. But your reasons hold water? Really?

Instead of saying "Why shouldn't we change it?", how about saying "Why should we change it?".

But because Im flaming and you're not (again, apparently:rolleyes:), I expect this post removed.

There is a lot of +1ing going on in this thread, as well as a lot of simple 'ur stupid' being thrown by both sides. One side also has a raging passion for the strawman; I'd say, it's best to keep the thread on the topic at hand, unless it is specifically related to the problem that is being alluded to. The Liberty dread's size comparison to the RM BS is pretty much the most blatant and worst strawman I've seen in a while, the two situations don't even compare. I'd say the Kusari destroyer's situation; it's size and so forth, are wholely unique to it, and attempting to bring up other ships of different classes to make the arguement seem weaker falls flat on its face.

I would suggest both sides attempt to be more construcive in creating arguments for their respective viewpoints, I spent a 5-10minutes writing a long post of my views and relative points related to the size issue of the Kusari destroyer, only to see the majority of the thread degrade into one liners and flaming spam. Which is a simple attempt to spam and flame this thread into lock.

I would just like to point out, that what you are clearly saying Ashes, is that you dont want the Kusari Dessie to be the smallest Dessie anymore. The Threasher is 1.6 times bigger then the KU dessie, which you will then upscale 2 or even 2.5 times. So, while the unique characteristic of Kusari ships has been that they are small, you are saying you can keep that, while make the KU dessie no longer the smallest Dessie. If the whole point is that the size of the Dessie is unbelievable and it needs to be increased by 2 times to believable, What about the dessies that would be smalled than the KU dessie after the size up? Wouldnt they need to be sized up, since a dessie has to be a certain size to be believable.

Why not start at trying to increase the size by 1.5 times instead, that would make it 50% larger, while still maintaining it's place as the smallest Dessie?

I know I ejected myself from this thread, but since there's actually a decent post I can respond to, I decided to post.

I scaled the Dessie up x1.6 in the end. So it's still slightly smaller than the Thresher.

x1.6

I've almost finished hardpointing it, I just have to place the running lights on it. I got distracted last night and didn't finish it.

Most of the hardpoints I've placed in the same places, but several hardpoints I've had to adjust. For example, the CM and one of the inactive turret hardpoints were in the same place, so I moved the turret. Also, the sideways turrets on top of the Kusari Dessie had opposite turning arcs, so the one on the left side could shoot forward on an angle while the one on the right could shoot backwards at an angle. I corrected it so they both shoot the same direction.

According to Mjolner and the pics you posted, it's now the exact same size as the Thresher.

What turrets are you talking about that shoot like that? I've never noticed anything like that on it previously, is that something new?

Also with the size increase it needs to have turrets that have free arcs to shoot all around now. Perhaps give 4-6 of it's turrets the ability to shoot to the rear. That's not horrible as the Thresher can shoot all 8 to the front and to the rear.

Regardless of all this, I do have a question. We're just going to change a ship now in game because someone made a thread on the forums and then made a new model? This sets a pretty messed up precedent. There are a lot of ships that are "unusual" according to many people, does this mean they can now just make a thread and a new model and get things changed to the way they want it? No offense Ashes, that's just a little off. Don't take this as a complaint, honestly I could see that this will make the Kusari Destroyer a lot more powerful, that isn't the issue. It's the whole principle of the thing that seems strange to me.

Well, what you all fail to understand is that Kusari engineers spent decades perfecting shrink-ray technology. In-rp logic at its finest.

Balancing isn't my department. I'm matching the hardpoints exactly on the Kusari Dessie now and getting it working perfectly in-game and Mjolnir will adjust their rotation arcs/positions as required.

There's no other ships that I can think of that really stick out. The only real reason people don't want it changed is because it's Vanilla. If someone were to submit a new Cruiser of this size, everyone would be saying "make it bigger!"

I understand completely now.

It also makes sense that they're able to shrink their ships with this shrink technology and still fit inside them, since Asians are so short.

So we should re-scale it to fit Yao Ming?

I don't think he's alive in Sirius. >.>

Seriously though, not changing it does not bother me, I'll just kill stuff as easily as I do now.
