Well, sir, today proved to be profitable! I got call from one of the lead exporters on Planet Leeds. They had an allotment of mining machines destined for Cardif. I snatched them up and double timed it over there. Once there a chap caught up with me asking for my services. Seems he had a large shipment of Beryllum he needed to get to Dortmond station way over in the New Berlin system. I agreed to the contract and away the lads and I went. It was an uneventful journey. We stopped over for a bit at Freeport 1 and I took the liberty of upgrading the Devonshire's turrets to level 4 and had a heavy countermeasure launcher installed also. While the mechanics were installing the new equipment I took a few moments to check the long range sensors. I noticed a few pirates IDs that I recognized were in the systems between me and Dortmond. I called a chap from the [JG]'s, one that called himself Dalilama. I inquired at the availability of his services, but he had to refuse me as he was already escorting 2 transports and was about to call it a day. I considered staying on Freeport 1 over night and checking the sensors in the morning. But then I got a feeling in my bones that told me everything would be alright. So, we got under way again and the rest of the trip was as uneventful as he beginning. We made a quick stop at Stuttgart, as I heard there was a deal to be had on an Advanced Graviton Transport shield. We took off again and after awhile we arrived safely to our destination. During unloading I received a dispatch call from the Gateway offices letting me know that I needed to get over to Bautzen. We did, and of course, the chaps there had a load of diamonds that they just had to get to Planet Leeds immediately, they were supposed to be there yesterday. So when I arrived back on Leeds the people who needed to take possession of the shipment were none too happy of the late arrival. I apologized for the tardiness of the load and gave them a business card.

//I believe that completes my required run.//:laugh:

For a first day on the job, I think the Devonshire did just fine.

Truely,

Captain Niles Perrywinkel

Mr. Perrywinkel,

Congratulations and welcome aboard! It sounds as though you and the crew of the Devonshire acquitted yourselves quite nicely today. Well done!

I hope that others of our Gateway family will greet you warmly in the coming days and weeks.

I hope I will be able to fly with you soon after returning from holiday. Until then, safe travels!

Buchanan out.

Guten Tag everyone,

The past couple of days have been more than traumatizing. I have taken to going to Liberty quite often these days with the rising tensions with my homeland. In my stays, though, it is apparent that while the Liberty Navy has been appropriating forces to the Bering and Hudson borders, it has become lacking in protection in California. In the past days, my life has been threatened on more than one occasion, and the Caernarvon has been damaged beyond repair, making a new ship necessary when my crew, who were thankfully unharmed and rescued by a Bounty Hunter who had saved me and them, returned to Kensington.

I would advise all vessels that are heading to Liberty to either reconsider your choice or go under heavy protection, which would have to be provided by the Mandelorians or other Mercenaries or Freelancers since our escort wing has taken a turn for the worse in the recruitment light.

Now time for a relaxing night, I've had enough trauma in the past few days.

Guten Tag everyone,

First I would like to say that I have gone into an overhaul type of mood and added several new runs and removed several of our old runs as well as finished several notes and runs that were previously not finished.

One particular run that was affected by this was our beloved Triad. Sadly, it is no more, since the RM have directly told me that they will help no shipments form Liberty, be them human or not.

Onto my trade report. Liberty is still, sadly, overrun by Hackers, Outcasts, and Rogues. If you do decide to go there, then do so under heavy escort.

Sadly enough, Rheinland is becoming much the same way, although the RM is doing a far better job at containing the menace. If any of them are seen, please thank them for their fine performance.

Bretonia, though, is still in fine shape, and we have recently christened a new Gunboat under the callsign Thorn. He offered us help whenever we encounter it in Bretonian space.

I wish these could be glad tidings, sir!

The lads and I met up with Herr Koch in space above planet Leeds. We had agreed to run a Pullman run together when we, and our escort, a nice chap who's name I can't seem to remember at the moment (my poor old memory), were caught up in a fierce ion storm near the jump gate to Omega 3. I lost visual contact and could not reach anyone on radio. I was able to make it to Freeport 1 where we set the Devonshire down for repairs. I had every intention of taking off again in search for them, but the station manager ordered a grounding of all ships in it's bays, due to the severity of the storm. I've still not heard from Herr Koch... Hopefully he is in good health wherever he and his crew are.

Truely,
Niles Perrywinkel

I am curious as to when the route changes will be posted for us to look at. I will miss the Triad run, for sure. Although I have been with the company a short while and ran it only once, I greatly enjoyed it.

Another concern I have, regarding the ban of everything from Liberty to Rhineland. I've done some research while the Devonshire has been grounded on Freeport 1, due to the storm, and I've found out some interesting information. Planet Manhattan has the largest demographic of elderly retirees in all of Liberty space. Part of their problem is that the private sector hasn't kept pace with this particular need of it's citizens. But Rhineland has. Augsburg Orbital Colony has one of best reported on old folks homes, sorry, elderly care facilities, in all of Sirrius. That's why the elderly leave Manhattan in droves bound for Augsburg! No doubt this embargo between Liberty and Rhineland will only worsen an already difficult situation on Manhattan.
This is an issue that is close to my heart, you see. I'm no spring chick myself.
Anyway, has there been word from your contacts as to how long the embargo will be lasting? Could this be the first steps to armed hostilities between Liberty and Rhineland?
Also, has there been any word on the whereabouts of Herr Koch?

Truely,
Niles Perrywinkel

Good evening everyone,
First of all I'd like to apologize for being silent for such a long time. When docking on Cambridge after our last run I received important news of a personal character and I had to leave immediatelly. Unfortunately, message I left for my First Officer where I asked him to let the company know about my leave got lost somehow. My humble apologies. But now I'm back and Canterbury is cruising again.
That reminds me: I'd like to annonce that our ships registration had finally been processed, me and my crew are flying Gateway)Canterbury from now on.

We did several beryllium/diamonds runs today. I have to confirm that Rheinland is getting more dangerous with every visit. LWB and Corsairs almost everywhere. Another interesting thing: we nearly collided with Corsair Transport ship at Leeds orbit. I reported that vessel to QCR officers in New London at once, so hopefully those Corsairs realize that they are definitely not wanted in Bretonia.
That's all for the moment, safe travels you all.
Aaron Power

Herr Perrywinkel,

I would like to assure you that I am here and alright, and I would rather like to know where you got the idea that I was gone. I'm here, and quite fine. I'll repost the trade routes after confirmation from Sir Buchanan and when they are completed. If you want to look at what they look like now, head over to our page three of the communications hub.

The Passengers from Manhattan that we had been helping to Augsburg were rather uncomfortable in our transport vessels. I have talked it over with Sir Buchanan, and the fact of the matter is that we are just not equipped to move Passengers over long distances. It will be detrimental to business, but we must think of the people first.

Subject: Recent Reports

Greetings All!

My family and I continue to enjoy our visit with family, though I am looking forward to getting back into space.

Allow me to address a couple of recent reports:

1. Mr. Power, congratulations on your ship's registration being processed! We are very glad to have you and your crew aboard, now with an official Gateway vessel!

2. Mr. Perrywinkel, do check out page three of our comm system. Mr. Koch typically edits those routes rather than posting anew each time there's a change.

Also, we must remember that Augsburg holds only 7,000 colonists. Even in a Percheron, three runs would more than exhaust the living capacity of the facility. Moreover, as Mr. Koch mentioned, transporting thousands of passengers is not really what transports were developed for. If we procure a liner at some point, it might be a consideration, though as yet not to Rheinland. Continuing the triad with that leg is therefore rather infeasible. If we can develop another such route, we might have more luck. We'll keep you posted on that front.

Keep up the good work, all, and remember to refer interested parties to our recruitment comm system!

Buchanan out.
