Thats not what I meant Loh.

You think that no one should control any territory. Im afraid that is an ideal that can't be achieved when you factor in human behavior. If it was, then TBH, OPG and Benitez would be clocking on nicely with each other melding together perfectly. Unfortunately, thats not the case, and we've divided up the territory we each own according to ... a mixed set of factors. Regardless, we've found a solution. It looks like your discussion with Eppy is gonna keep going in circles too if you dont. Im not saying its ideal, im saying that you must if you want to avoid it. There is simply no other way, saying that from experience.

If you find another way, please tell me.

I think I would like to hear an explanation for the BSes visiting NY quite often these days.

Also, next time remember than even you have to follow the rules.

well theres also a nice little testiment saying all humans are equal, what we all tend to forget is this is a game, yes were rp'ing as if it was real life and yes we are rp'ing as military (or the most part is anyway) but the way i see it NOONE, should have sovereign rule over NOONE. Yeah yeah were official factions we have the power over indies blah blah, yes we are usually "usually" more respected than independants, this imo DOES NOT give us the right to claim rule and authority over them, your right about one thing that things should be split out evenly IF it has to be, but the only people in the outcasts that are trying to claim rule in the systems is the 101st, no'one else could give a crap honestly.

but anyway il get back to the point i was trying to make, this is a game.... a game people come on to have fun, some people dont wanna be a part of anything in this game, some people dont wanna become big in this game, only wanna come on have a bit of fun.... now its fine for this "official" faction to come around and start bossing them around when all theyre trying to do is mind theyre own business and just wanna play?

This is taking things to far, one i dont agree upon, now i they REALLY wanted to play fair here..... they would just throw away the whole we hold the rule in all outcast systems and just leave em as they are and SHOULD be "outcast" systems, not "101st" systems OUTCAST. a place where NOONE holds rule but the outcasts. in other words we dont need to specify who rules that in a singular basis but EVERYONE of the outcasts has theyre equal share of say.

101st are the POLICE/DEFENDERS of Alpha. Not the supreme leaders.. This I agree with Lohingren. RM POLICE and DEFEND Rheinland.. They don't control every little aspect. For example, they don't say that only Rheinland companies can carry diamonds through Rheinland. The Outcasts aren't a military-controlled dictatorship. They have many many Dons that control different aspects of the government. Much of the Outcast nation is independently ran, not fully controlled. So 101st being the guardians of Omicron-85 does NOT mean they have sovereignty of Alpha. It means the responsibility of defense and upholding the peace is theirs. In that, they are the main leaders of any defensive operations and have a hold on any major Outcast capital ship authorizations, meaning capship purchases should be going through them.

In reference to that, 101st upholding BLS' attempt to monopolize the cardamine trade should NOT be happening. The BLS are responsible for their attempts at controlling the cardamine trade. 101st is allowed to favor the BLS, but they are not responsible, and do not have the right, to uphold BLS' monopoly. If 101st were trying to bring cardamine trade under its own control, which would include having smuggling ships for the transportation of it, than thats fine.. But do not deal with BLS' monopoly, thats our job.

About the Keepers.. Its true that Nomads and 101st have a fragile peace and the Nomads have a future plan for them.. That doesn't mean all Outcasts believe they are good and friendly.. Just because 101st think that we should accept them and treat them as gods doesn't mean all Outcasts have to. For example, I do not believe that.. My 101st, Luciano Demetri treats them like the other 101st do. My RoS, Vitale Demetri (brothers), does not think of them like gods and is pretty suspicious of them.. Juan Mendez, my indie, is also suspicious of them and thinks that they will bring no good to the Outcasts.. Any Outcast may look at them however they wish. 101st should not (not saying they do) make others like them.. But simply make sure no hostilities occur in Alpha or Beta.

Perhaps to make a compromise, have 101st either put Keepers under Unfriendly, or under Special Conditions, which would be described very clearly below the diplomacy list..

For the Zones of Influence list..

Change it to;

Quote:The 101st has territorial holdings within:

* Omicron Alpha
* Omicron 85
* Omicron Eta
* Omicron Beta
* Omicron 80
* Sigma 60

The 101st has influence within:

* Tau-23
* Newcastle

That is what it should say.. You don't have full dictatorship-control of Alpha and the others.. You have dictatorship-control of 85. Then you have much power, like a military and police force has, in the others. Tau-23 and Newcastle is simply influence, not territorial. Territorial is what would describe your control of Eta, Alpha, Beta, 80, and S-60. (80 only until RoS has it, as I think they are going for it sooner or later.)

If I missed anything, tell me. Didn't read all the posts.. Just the recent ones and the first.

EDIT: @Mjolner.. If this is about the Independent OC BSs, don't complain in here, its not the time or place for it.

Dab, what goes between us and aforementioned Outcast factions is done within in-game roleplay. If your character is suspicious - that is your character and you are playing him/her. An opinion of one character, who does not hold massive political influence, does not affect entire faction or even several factions. I think the decisions were made long time ago and furthermore had months of long and complicated roleplay behind them. You, as well as your character, can only speculate about the future the Nomads have as well as their intents and motives, but truly you do not know, neither anyone here bar one or two persons aside of myself.

as for the nomad business, i find them being on neutral is perfectly fine.... its even debatable that they could be thrown on friendly since the relationship is not that of a enemy nor is it of a neutral base.

the only reason i would say NOT to make it friendly is just to save the keepers the grief when everyone shouts oorp oorp keepers aliens BLAH! like usually happens.

honestly like i said though its deffinentely not that of a neutral kind.... they protect the graves willingy this i know for the keepers/RoS had a bit of RP to establish it not something someone of neutral tendancys would do. Though like i said Neutral is well within the bounds of this relationship and i see no reason to change it

what would be "nice" to write is not only "upholding" rights to enforce a factions law - but it should be more like that...

the 101st upholds the factions law along with the RoS and others that i just forgot ( i m not too much interested in the outcasts and corsairs ) - but that way it would indicate cooperation with the other strong subfactions of the one factions.

by the rules - the 101st rules over 85 - and there it ends. - there is NO right whatsoever to tell anyone anything outside of 85 - there is a right to enforce a law that the faction has agreed on though - a faction is everyone RPing this particular faction that has a vote ( usually the playerfactions )

what i miss is what you intend to do as a whole faction ( WITH the other outcast factions - and there are quite some out there ) - what joint plans do you have - do you even work together or rather against each other - what is the outcast faction about as a NPC faction, not only the 101st - since the 101st is the owner of the guard system they have more responsibilities than the non system owning factions. - and i d like to hear more about whats more than just a daily / weekly battle with the corsairs.

the war against the corsairs should be more dynamical - eventually it might even end some day, either by peacemaking or defeat of one side - but as long as both sides just battle meaningless battles ( meaning pvp without any real background ) - whats the point then. - i am aware that "major" changes are not possible ( e.g. a real peace between the factions - as it would disturb the whole lore of freelancer ) - but i d like to see "movement" - ...

make an epic battle ( doesn t need to be solved in one pvp battle, but maybe a campaign where the winner actually gains space superiority that can be changed in the serverlore as well as the systems setup upon an update. - imagine assisting the hessians in the omegas and finally drive the corsairs out of that system, effectivly cutting 47 off them and their backdoor route to bretonia.

there are things that i d like to see that are beyond simply fighting cause pvp is fun.

and jinx, the whole Outcast/Corsair war is ABOUT meaningless battle....... we aint just killing each other for the sheer sake of funzies.

the whole battle and reason for battle has been forgotten theyre fighting for the sheer hell of it now, yes its stupid but that IS the freelancer lore as you put it.

I haven't been playing all that long but as i get it Lohingren is right. The Corsair vs Outcast war is and has been a stalemate for a long time without much chance of that changing. The raids go back and forth endlessly and neither side really wants the war to end.

Only one thing more except what Lohingren wrote that bothers me is activity of 101st members... I regularly see 3 members of 101st online, few more once a week and rest only occasionally... You should be 1st wall of defense, strongest one of all, so act like that... If you don't have members , recruit new ones and train them... I don't remember when was last time that 101st repelled invasion by itself, and you should have force for that...

Other than that ..... all okay...
