It's nice to hear from you again.
I take it you already cast your vote? I am quite positive about it so far, though admittedly I try not to check in with the newest exit polls every fifteen minutes. To no avail, as you can imagine.
Why do you ask about bets? Want to make one? Could be fun.
Lunch? I suppose it's good enough of an excuse to have lunch together then, paid by the loser.
United Kusari being a candidate to face investigations, you say? I think they learnt their lesson from the scandal four years ago and cut ties with everything even remotely problematic. I'm more inclined to bet on the Social Democrats appearing in the news over ties to Liberty before the election phase even ends. I'll pay for the dessert as a bonus if the Ninkyō Dantai doesn't manage to overtake United Kusari.
Something as big as such an investigation will spread across the news like a wildfire anyway, so we'll see indeed. One last amendment to our bet: The winner also gets to choose the restaurant. I hope you know places with good desserts, just in case you get lucky enough to win. I'll already compile a list of options myself assuming we stick to Planet New Tokyo as location.
They better hurry up with the scandals, I am starting to grow hungry just thinking about it.
Are you on a deployment? I hope you haven't been drafted into this whole operation yet.
I need an additional person to talk to and I can only think of you for that. Can you find time for me?
Good to know you're still in Kusari, that's a relief. I actually don't think this is a trust issue, not in your case at least. Don't ask.
Now, things are quite messy as you can imagine. I'm currently trying to squeeze in time for a project I consider necessary for national security. Of course it's related to the leaked files. Kishiro will begin developing countermeasures to potential third party Drive usage, whilst we don't expect working copies to surface for years, it'll eventually happen. And.. I sort of contracted Revenant as an assistant for another issue. The leaked schematics are quite literally highly explosive if used right now.
As a result of this mess, I wanted to keep you in the loop. You're the only Agent I trust beyond mere duty, so I'll rely on you for the two scenarios I see ahead of us:
Revenant betrays my trust and requires liquidation - or - we manage to find a solution for a Drive constructed from the leaked schematics to be both still dysfunctional, yet not going to blow apart entire stations upon activation. For that countermeasure to spread, we'd have to fabricate a believable second leak. And I'd need your help planning and executing it, should we get to this point.
I assume you got busy with some domestic assignment after all. Don't worry. There's technically no rush here, so I just wanted to keep you in loop since there's been a few changes to my plans.
Revenant won't require liquidation. We found a way to approach her involvement which renders her impossible of betraying my trust or leaking data to begin with. She's currently undergoing interviews for her job application with Kishiro Technologies. Fancy, right?
I will leave any sort of countermeasure development to our experts within Kishiro and the KOI. They will be busy with this for quite some time though, which means the attempt to fake a believable second leak falls entirely upon me by the looks of it. I got a few ideas and will get my Sis involved but I will still require your help when we've reached the point of releasing it. KOI investigations, fake arrests, anything that makes the second leak very authentic. Who else than you could help me here, right? So at least try to be available some time soon, okay?

Hai, I'm still here for you. There were no new assignments. There was nothing; my superiors have stopped sending me their offers or orders. Outside of some routine data to analyze, there's nothing for me to do.
It's strange -- something like this has never happened to me before. I must've stepped on someone's toes before, and now they are using their influence against me.
But enough about me, back to you -- while I don't know Sapphire Raven as well as you do, I'm not sure if employing her at the Kishiro is a good idea. I'm not the only agent who knows about your friendship, and my agency is changing in front of my eyes.
We're in extraordinary times right now, so try not to do anything they wouldn't like.
