Pirates attacking BHG at will.

Walker, if everyone thought in such a materialistic, utilitarian manner, the world would be a very different place. But frankly, you can't put a collar on human being that controls their emotions. Pirates hate the BHG more than the police. BHG are people who are essentially betrayed the pirates for money and a chance to not be hounded for the rest of their lives.

In addition, BHG are the only people who know were most of the jumpholes are.

One of the primary rules of the BHG is to never tell the Lawfuls where the jumpholes are, so that their work stays available. Even though the lawfuls probably now have a good idea where they are, its most likely approximation.

As a result, ever single BHG presents a huge threat to the viability of the pirates causes.

I would take it on a case-by-case basis. Sure, some pirates hate the BHG more than anything, but some likely won't engage them unless they get too close for comfort. I would allow it. Then again, I'd also allow BHG to fire on pirates who stray into weapons range, but that doesn't seem to be allowed anymore.

Personally, I'd also say that while the BHG are motivated by greed in most instances, pirates are very afraid that the BHG might go and reveal the JH locations, and are angry at those traitorous Hunter scum for joining the other side.

What's amusing, of course, is that as soon as you flip this around, and a Bounty Hunter engages a pirate in Magellan or Omega 7, then he's a PvP hungry cap whore fool that needs to have his game play restricted, because the sanctity of the unlawfuls must not be challenged.

we must get away from the stigma that many of the BHG are ex-criminals. - actually, regarding to the lore, there are a FEW within the BHG that are turncoats. those few provided the guild with valuable information - but the very major part of the BHG are lawful hunters, similar to the LPI.

other than that - the BHG is hated by pirates. - but to turn it around, the BHG hates most pirates just the same.

the BHG does not want to waste resources on targets that are not payed for. the pirate factions do not want to waste resources on hunters that are not looking for them.

the rest is up to the server rules.

when RPed seriously - a pirate that is part of a tightly organized group would only go after the BHG if the group flags the BHG as an immanent threat - tha is ... if they know that the BHG is activly and currently looking for their members. if they are not aware of that, they would not dare to risk their men and their equipment against a random target - as such an organization is well aware of the market value of a pilot and its ship. - emotions such as hatret play a lesser role in such a calculation.

a pirate that is part of a loose knit organization ( like the original rogues ( not the disco lib rogues ) ) might have the "authority" to go after a random target and act much more regarding to his emotions like hatret towards the BHG - but on the same time, he would fear the retribution of the "organized" group to retaliate. ( criminals are more reluctant to kill a police officer than killing a random person, cause the police as an organization specialized to hunt criminals is a very strong and powerful "body" that can retaliate much more efficient than a private person )

so the considerations that a pirate would do in RP are pretty much the same that the BHG does. - when money speaks, they only go for what they MUST and what is WORTH it. if emotions speak, it is not only hatred - but also fear. - roleplay is usually a compromise of both.

the other i was in NY on my pirate ID bomber, i started being fired upon by 2 liberty crafts, and the na BH attacked me, so in RP i told him nicely, Dont Fire on me Hunter, i have no bouny on my head, and therefore he responded, you're right you have no bounty therefore i have no need too fire upon you, which too me is great he's responded well in RP and he's been nice and followed the RP.

Actually, when that BHG takes a Battlecruiser to Magellan or Sigma-13 to go after a lone pirate fighter with no bounty on his head, he is a pvp hungry cap whore. If the BHG takes a fighter or bomber to go after that fighter or bomber, then no one will complain. If the enemy is a GB then take a battlecruiser or lower.. Its just people are sick of BHG BSs and BCs being flown around hunting down pirates using the chat window so they can get an easy kill by killing lone fighters or bombers in the biggest ship classes in the game. Especially when that pirate has no bounty on his head.

Bounty hunters kill people for money, so ask yourself what you'd do if you were a known pirate who saw a bounty hunter coming at you knowing if you had a bounty on your head or not.

And yes, bounty hunters are frothing at the mouth pvp prostitutes with little, or no, regard to bounties. (There's only a few that i know of who doesn't do this.)
