I know...
I would hope that because they would also be offered our services they would compromise their legal system towards us.
It would also be calculated into the fee of the contract risk/reward ratio
Of course...
in actual game terms, having a deal doesn't actually help you whatsoever - infact it sets you back a fair few credits
In RP terms of course you would be helped: "the orange dream" is spread wider, your house gets much needed items etc.
Think of it like placing Bounties... gamewise its pointless (they won't die, you've given someone credits)
RP-wise its destroying your nemesis, or at least harming him.
Might I also note that Liberty and Bretonia must have a major shortage of diomands?! A lot of future technology probably relies on it. Of course, liberty is preventing itself by stoppin traders from helping them
P.S. if theres anyone wanting to propose a contract, PM me and I'll make the faction.
Right then... looks like this will go into action pretty soon:
name: Anything to Anywhere [AtA] or [AA] ???
Faction: primarily junker, some zoner members (I would be Zoner because of my backstory... which needs adding to)
Ships: If doing unlawful trading nothing bigger than a BWT, limit not applied for lawful trade
These all look okay?
Pricing isn't worked out... it would have to be case by case.
The minimum we would take is equivalent to 1mil profit every 3 mins (including commod buy/sell) (an average trade route is 1 mil every 2 mins) this sound reasonable??
All this sound okay? Any improvements? There is a backstory to the faction I can't be bothered to write up right now.
Right now we are looking for long term trade contracts. (short term also accepted)
and traders/smugglers (fees are split, every item you buy/sell you keep all profit)
So, any smugglers or traders bored of earning just for credits?
And any houses or pirates wanting some goods delivered?
I'd be interested in joining, but how but role playing the smuggling? have a load of engine components in with the cardi. That way when the navy scan you
"Drop that contraband"
"What contraband, alls I have is a load of Engine components for the Freeport"

Oh what ships? Whale perhaps?
Actually, that would be the perfect way to do it.
However, I also think that you would just about have to have the freelancer ID as opposed to a smuggler or trader ID - since you do both. If it's in RP - and these guys are like the old American TV show "BJ and the Bear" - his motto was that he'd haul anything, anywhere - no questions asked - then they'd obviously have to be freelancers.
About the only thing that they should never haul would be slaves - cardi, counterfeit software, other stuff - sure, we'll haul it. Sort of do the thing that truckers do today - have half a load of real stuff on the rear of the trailer, with the front half of the trailer loaded with the stuff being smuggled.
So you could carry no more than half a load of contraband and stay in character - still makes sense to me.
Everyone roleplays their smuggler differently,
some act like normal traders - they have a normal tradeship, keep quiet, look like powertraders
others cause distractions, ask for help wih pirates on the other side of the system etc.
Others are clearly smuggling, they fly smugglers ships, and are so confident they try to outrun the police.
Then they boast if they make it, or make hundreds of excuses if they don't (I'm one of them)
So how you roleplay it is up to you, ship choice would be up to you...
My character started smuggling because of greed, he wouldn't compromise it by taking lots of less profitable items (although he does take a few)
Perhaps yours would be more professional in his approach... he would do it for business, rather than pleasure.
Thankyou for showing interest in joining...
a few things like pricing and name to work out before this gets rolling, but please give input!
