During this time of transition for your company, we at APM want the management and staff at Gateway to know that we have only the best wishes for your continued success in the field of interstellar transport.
We also have no desire, unlike certain other companies, to engage in a hostile takeover of your company during a period of reorganization.
Given the economics involved, and of the course the need for your company to fulfill its delivery contracts regardless of circumstances, APM has a proposal for you. As you know, we have a dedicated fleet of transports for carrying our own materials. As you also know, ships that are moving from point A to point B will have necessary running costs regardless of whether they have cargo loaded or not.
I propose that on certain of your cargo routes where your pick-up points coincide with our delivery points, and where we normally do not transship any cargo, that you allow us to sub-contract for delivery of any cargo that you would normally have to deliver there. This will free your bottoms for transport of OTHER cargoes and increase your base profitability, by allowing you to concentrate on those routes which are more lucrative for you. This will also increase our profitability, allowing us to transship a cargo and earn freight delivery fees instead of dead-heading on certain of our routes.
We are not, in any way, shape, or form, attempting to compete with you or Borderworld Exports in the field of bulk or mainstream cargo handling. We will still specialize in hauling the specific materials needed as ship builders for the Bounty Hunters Guild. This will simply allow both of our corporations to expand in areas that, perhaps, neither had considered in the past, and hopefully help provide your company with the ability to survive, flourish, and grow in the Sirius trade.

Subject: Deep Regrets
Dear sirs,
It is with my deepest regrets that I must inform you of the suspected death of one Mr. Devalin Bowman. Apparently, Mr. Bowman ran into the cybernetic units known as 'Harvesters'. I do not know the specifics of the incident, except to say that Mr. Bowman's vehicle was destroyed in the encounter, and his escape pod was not recovered.
As his duly appointed representative, and, as he has no living family, it falls to me to divide his estate. Mr. Bowman, when creating his trust, was very specific to me as to how his money was to be handled. He has advised me to send a large portion of his estate to specific charities, most having to do with health and human services to help those in need. However, he also wished a certain portion to go back to the company which was so kind to him in his life, that being Gateway Interstellar.
I must wait a specific period of time to confirm the common belief that Mr. Bowman is no longer with us, but once that is done, his estate will be divided as I have been instructed to do.
Again, it is with the deepest regrets that I must inform you all of this tragic occurrence.

Hello Everyone,
My office has informed me that we have received confirmation of Mr. Bowman's death. While there is some connection to an encounter with the Harvesters, details remain sketchy, and will most likely never be fully known.
Our sincerest sympathies to Mr. Bowman's family, as well as to those of his crew. We have sent representatives to all their homes to arrange for funeral services and to ensure the families' needs are met.
Gateway Interstellar is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Harold Brown (elgatodiablo) to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this capacity, Mr. Brown will oversee the day-to-day operations of Gateway, both in its internal organization and activities, and in its diplomacy with other organizations.
Mr. Alisdair Buchanan, who is retiring from the CEO position, stated: "Harry Brown has the full confidence of the Board of Directors, and we are quite pleased with his interest and commitment to Gateway's future development."
Mr. Brown, 36, enters Gateway leadership from a career in both civic and corporate leadership. He has served as both a community organizer, as a business leader - Chief Procurement Officer for Borderworlds Exports - and most recently as a Member of Parliament representing the City of Binghampton-Upon-Upton on Planet Leeds.
Mr. Brown's appointment is effective immediately.

Greetings, All:
A couple of other things I forgot to mention.
First of all, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Calum McDonald, captain of the GlenCoe, has been appointed to Gateway's Board of Directors. Mr. McDonald has proved in both his activity and longevity a commitment to our principles and the welfare of the company. Congratulations, Mr. McDonald!
Second, my new status is as follows: While no longer CEO, and therefore no longer in direct day-to-day leadership of Gateway, I will remain Chair of the Board of Directors, although I am giving up the veto I had previously. I'll continue to captain the Trafalgar and to be involved in the major decisions affecting Gateway's vision and direction. I'll also be available to advise Mr. Brown as he needs me.
Third, on a more personal note two things: Let me express to all of you my deep gratitude for the support and cooperation you've shown me as CEO. I am very proud of this organization, and I appreciate each of you personally.
Also, I would ask you not to refer to me as "Sir" any longer. I am very discouraged and disappointed by the politics of the Crown these days, and my knighthood - although awarded for philanthropy - ties me to a particular politics in which I no longer have any interest.
All of that said, let me state again that this is a great time for Gateway, and I think we have our best years ahead of us!
