what are you aiming at? quit beating around the bush and say it. specifics, details, minutia. don't be so circumspect. That's one of your problems in debates Akuma, you are not direct in asking your question, which leads to ambiguity which leads to cranky pants which leads to locked threads.
Please please please give more details as to EXACTLY what you want to know. perhaps writing an example ID for your favored blood dragons perhaps, showing exactly what you'd like to see in it.
' Wrote:So an in RP attack on a corporate ID cannot happen unless it is specifically allowed in the ID?
In that case can we get all allowed attacks clearly laid out?
Akuma, although I fear it will be insufficient to stop you hijacking yet another thread, I'll at least make this attempt.
As Kuraine has already said, yes the ID card will clearly lay out which types of trader a pirate can attack (rather than 'pirate') within the rules. So for example the Molly ID says that a Molly can kill-on-sight (ie attack rather than pirate) a Bretonian Mining and Metals ID player. So if your ID says "You can attack NPC Type X" then this is allowed, if not then you can't. There are also general rules (so for example a Bretonia Armed Forces ID can attack "all unlawfuls", and a Corsair ID can attack "all lawful military factions") to cover the situations in which factions are in direct armed conflict.
No longer active online due to a dwindling amount of non-PvP (trading, pirating, mining, etc.) fun in the new version.
Quote:Yeah but the Freelancer ID will only allow (from memory) up to 3600 cargo space. Which is fine if you're RPing a trader for its own sake, but not so good if you're trading to fund other characters.
Exactly. Funding has no RP use, therefore I see no counterpoint here. Your RP suffers nothing with this change. This is an RP server.

Yes, this is an RP server. I do not, however, accept the argument that funding does not have an important relationship with the RP on this server. How do you suggest that people roleplay a House Military character (for example) without money to actually maintain the character? Unless of course you're suggesting that the admins will give weekly credit increases to people who RP properly?
You can write the most brilliant system chat prose in the universe, but if you don't have sufficient funding to pay repair bills (especially if your character's ZOI includes heavy radiation, such as the Corsairs and Outcasts) you're stuffed.

If this was a server where everyone had RP in mind, as you seem to, your reasoning is sound. It's not. Powertraders ruin it for the real RPers, but that's just how it goes.
Losing 1400 cargo isn't going to kill you. You'll make less, but your RP is intact.
Trer ID could also Be use for OwnPrivate Trading but also for Finding some Nice Roleplay Routes and then Find a Company/faction who can do it. Trader ID's Can have its Uses
This all i have to Say on this //i wont look Further Here as My Word has Been said.
Yey Planning on going back to the RoS With a leash and collar arround Mah Neck yey. And Will be Active in GRN and EFL... [Once i start playing again]

How do power traders ruin it for the real RPers?
And more importantly, what's giving them a smaller cargo going to do except make them trade longer which means the "real RPers" will see them more often rather than less?

And since there is no ZOI restriction on corperate traders, we will just corperate ID'd traders everywhere except where they will be shot, and nothing will change.
They ruin it by making these changes even be thought of. Obviously they have, for that very reason.
And yeah, we might see them more. Fact is, they won't have the massive means of profit that they have had. Good thing? Bad thing? Opinion there. I don't really care either way.
They didn't cause these changes, you and I did, and everyone else it thinks it's a good idea to put more restrictions in place to spite people who don't care about the restrictions in the first place.
