I recently made an LNS character, rather new (LNS-Oregon, Liberty Cruiser) and i am now considering changing it to a Rhienland cruiser.

I think the reason that so many people choose Liberty is because that is where the most action is. There are always pirate attacks on New York like everyday, it's quite oorp for attacks of that scale everyday (dreadnaughts and batleships), but now i'm gona go and buy a Rhienland cruiser i think, i wanted one in the first place.

If you want to be added to the roster of approved ships then thats fine, as I know you'd behave responsibly, and not go after some poor sod alone in a greyhound.
Send me the RP, again I say, no need for a masterpeice, and unless it's utterly stupid (like being crewed entirely by hyper-intelligent goldfish) then it will get approved. You will be placed on a week long trial period to see if you use it repsonsibly, not to pvp-whore unlawfuls out of their ships then you will be placed on the roster of approved ships. Getting there is easy

Akumabito, I did have a feeling you'd jump on this one rather quickly and I'm surprised you're so late.

I'm going to take some time to explain it. I want to see liberty indy caps flying around. I also want to see people in those ships respecting other people's gameplay, which is something liberty has had a huge problem with, trust me I know.

This cap restriction isn't in place to 'beat down on indies' or firther my own power in any way. Infact it is to make liberty operable for the unlawful players, who, as things stood were losing members as a result of getting cap-spoammed every time they moved. I was getting PM's for weeks from epople regarding this asking me to riegn in on the issue, which is what I have done.

Now I say again, I am not interesting in gaining power infact I loathe having control over other people, however when I have it I have to use it for the greater good. I didn't want to take this step but frankly the issue with the epic cap-spam in liberty ghad gone too far.

I have already resolved various issues, especialy with Kearsarge Matt and LNS-Prodigy regarding it, and those people, who were violently opposed to the restrictions are extremely likely to be added to the approved list, they are already on the trial period.

Akuma, if you want a liberty cap ship, then by all means send me the RP for it, the same standards of behaviour will apply to you as everyone else. I don't want to act as the RP police here, and tus unless something is completely out of cannon it -will- be accepted, provided the player can use the ship in a way that doesn't piss on other people's fun.

Thank you for reading my intentions in my other posts so carefully, and interpreting the reasons behind it so very clearly. Your deep and genuine insight is truely appreciated.

I'll give you my take on it, as long as the rules don't require me to have a clan leaders permission I am not going to ask for it. If you want to whore me in game for not doing so then do it. If you have an issue with how I rp my ship then take it up with me, or file a sanction report on me like everyone else.

My bad. I should have expanded on this to ensure everyone knew I meant proper roleplay on all fronts.

Infact, the sending of RP is merely a token gesture.

The emphasis of the restriction is simply to make liberty a decent place to RP for everyone. Without the swarm of people running over to get a kill message.

As I also said, this isn't about us policing RP. This is about ensuring that liberty is free from the monstrous overkill that I have been witness to all too often.

However, given I'm open to suggestions on how this could be solved without the measure I have taken, then by all means give me an alternative. You may provide us with a fantasic idea that could work... Who knows.

EDIT: ohh dear me, you just lost the chance.

Considering my history with the LN and they still want to be friends and work WITH me (not against or overlording) rather then PVP me into the ground, I would say that they are actually being pretty reasonable as a faction in this respect.

Despite what us indies are saying about the LN lording over us, after talking to Joe and others on TS I have come to realize that this is a partnership to help keep NY just a little better. They are not demanding that we have a book to read about our ships, rather they want us to work WITH them as partners in keeping Liberty civil.

If I, with all of my hard headed indie flare, can work with the LN on this, anyone can.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

I'm waiting on you to tell me why such a considerate system as they are using now is so bad. What you seemingly want in akin to allowing gun ownership to anyone. "Well, he can't see to well in one eye, and he shoots squirrels off the street in front of his house, but who are we to tell him he can't have a gun?"

Joe is being very open and kind about this. Can you show a little class and not completely troll this topic with your depressing "Here come the indy restrictions. *Sigh.*"?

Just to let everyone know, i fully support this.

I wasn't too keen on the whole ban a few months ago when it was being discussed, but a lot has changed since then and I'd say this is needed.

As long as those who RP well/ respect fair play are allowed to use their ships, then I'm perfectly fine with this.

So.. yeah

Well, with this I believe we have heard all the complaints and suggestions, the ban will stay in place, and indies who want to keep their ships are required to simply try and work with us, so we can set up a nice, comfortable atmosphere. We're giving you a hand here so for those who will refuse even that, well, don't know what to say, everyone chooses their own path, and you know the consequences. Hopefully everyone will choose to help us make Liberty a better place.

Seems it has reached closure then. My closing arguements:

1. if you wanted to make liberty a better place you would have tried harder already.
2. It will end badly, as predicted by many.
