i think the bomber should have their own shields and greater range on the cannons. they are slow so no risk hitting a fighter but for cap's its good. now a BS flying without an escort is doomed.. and it realistic.. if it has an escort well it has a great chance..

Problem is that those weapons would also work vs fighters.

The bomber gun stats need some review imo, most notably range and damage/energy. But what and how much needs to be changed is a bit too early to tell.

Since we got the 4.85 (first complete release), I got killed by bombers only 2 times while being in VHFs.
I'm a uber pvp whore ? Yeah nerf all my ships then. Just know I use almost ALL VHFs

Unfortunatly close support weapons will hurt fighters as well.

Currently I am refitting my gunboats for anti bomber. It is all I can do to keep em alive, but I have finally broken down and started mounting missiles and razors. Still gonna keep some primaries but the setup has changed a lot.

I am not for nerfing bombers, it seems that they are finally where they are suppost to be. Unfortunatly, the damage output on bomber weapons now rivals cruisers for dps on primaries... just not speed.

They exceed that of gunboats, in range and power but not velocity.

In my minds eye, I would like to see that balance for gunboats to be

2 bombers= gunboat

3 for heavy cruisers, 2 for light

and 3 to 4 for killing a bs with a good anti light setup. That means a good number of solaris and razors equiped.

Again, this is a amazing improvement, I am deffinatly going to be using my mini killing machines more. Unfortunatly, I am out without fighter support pretty often because of time zone differences. I really want to put up a good fight on my own.

I really don't want to make this seem like whining.....

And if so, why cant the poeple who need said escort use them?

I was in Connecticut flying the Roc against a GB and later an Upholder.

The bomber vs bomber combat was the same. Minus the possibility of using missiles to regen the power core. That was my main reason to have them.

But I lost bad against the GB wielding dual missiles. I had trouble shooting down the shield on that thing (2 EMP, 2 energy cannons), so I was thinking about going for full EMP, but doing that leaves my bomber as a 2 trick pony (SNAC + nukes). The current setup was eating the core pretty quick.

But it's more than advisable now to mount missiles and razors on those gunboats.

Flying under radar.

No really...I don't get the point...nerfing and all.Just buff the projectile speed of the fighters' guns.
