Cruiser Balance

Its never pointless to talk about balance, especially when the new balance system could easily be full of errors we could avoid just by discussing it. Besides, we have time before 4.85.

Why don't you help find these errors?

Well, for one I've heard the Kusari destroyer can annihilate just about any other capital out there, including the Liberty dreadnought... how is that balanced?

This isn't the developers forum, most here have no idea what changes have already been implemented in 4.85 alpha.

And it would be good if people stopped spreading unsubstantiated rumours about balance issues that they
have absolutely no idea about. As usual, I expect most of the rumours are a crock.

1. Kusari destroyer has much less armor and smaller powerplant than just about any other cruiser now, which wasn't the case in 4.85

2. I can still fire only 2 turrets back, so as Dab knows very well from just a few days ago, if there's one ship around with a CD it can't do anything but run.

So surprisingly it was nerfed from 4.84. If enough that's what tests are for, which are ongoing and changes are being made after their results. Dab basically takes rumors and assumption without ever coming to test.

If the Liberty Dread has completely useless loadout against cruisers it can. OC destroyer or BHG destroyer can do the same even easier and faster under same conditions. Cause both have same profile and more guns and/or bigger powerplant.

That said if a Liberty Dread has certain types of loadouts (*winks at Ross*) it can come into BS vs BS fight and die without ever moving shield on the other BS. Same is true for all battleships.

Yes it's no longer "mount all primaries and let's go".

Yeah, Mjolnir annihilated myself in an Osiris quite a while back when I tried all primaries. I don't think his Praefect even lost shield.

Accounting for range is very important now, so long range guns are needed for certain roles.

Anyway, I don't think we should bother folk with 'OMG! THAT'S BROKEN!' until we've actually tried it out for ourselves, right?
