Now I have seen some statement that bother me a little.

The first was some one says Scorn is gone? I find it rather odd he'd leave with no word to anyone at all. He's always been a lot more responsible than that, so I think some one either was misinformed or assumed incorrectly.

Seeing as Geisha has some contact with him, we all need to stop making plans really and wait. Scorn is still the leader of the Harvesters and should not be counted out.

Taii, I know that steams you a little that some one is considering taking over, but relax will ya. Its not over until the Admins themselves say its over, and judging my the fact that one of them edited a post here and made a statement about doing so should tell everyone involved or concerned that the Faction is not lost, nor is it being discounted entirely.

You do raise a valid point, the harvesters do have Private Forums, and a lot of information is kept there including what has been going on with Scorn. So, Snapp, Bal, you may need to get on those forums and look into whats going on, not to mention post what you feel is going on and even better, see what the remaining Harvester Players are thinking and would like to see happen.

As Boba has said, we need to see an official statement from Scornstar or even the Admins before anyone jumps off the deep end and starts making sweeping changes to the Faction in part or as a whole.

I would strongly advice people who don't have enought patience to wait to PLEASE wait and don't make topics like this without the approvement of Scorn. Don't forget people , this is still an Official faction of Discovery , don't make it a joke.

I realy hope that the admin team won't make any bad assumptions about this , please everyone hold just abit longer.

a few comments about the whole business....

this IS a delicate issue - it is not only a much greater fuss about a faction that is either falling apart - or is meant to fall apart or is only rumored to fall apart ( but any way..... it can be a self fullfilling prophecy ) - but its also a precedent about the effords of a custom faction that is / was close to get a fully official status in terms of identity, ships etc. .

part of the problem is also of course the delay of 4.85 that would have pushed the faction further - but it would only be ONE push - a faction needs to propell itself further after that.

what i have seen from the harvesters recently ( based on a subjective point of view ):
- i have seen harvesters in-game... not many, by far not as many as there were when it was "fashionable" to be an AI - but there were 1 or 2 around quite continuously ( mind 1-2 are not enough to be a factioin )
- i have seen the admin mention about inactivity
- i have ( myself ) mentioned doubts about the status the harvesters would take up - and the realiy ( different forum )
- i have seen quite some hysteria about it
- there was a roll call ( which did not really go too well, i daresay )
- i have seen multiple threads that explained / reassured the situation to calm down

now - it shows that there is a lot of interest in the faction, yet the faction is quite inactive ( compared to some other factions ) .... however... factions like "natures last hope", "farmers alliance" or even the "KNF" have periods ( sometimes longer ones ) of relative low activity, too. ( especially when compared to high activity factions like "=CR=" "benitez", "opg", "LN" or others )


i think what is really needed is less rumor - more facts. - and honest facts if possible.

the harvesters faction ( and there is a reason there is a leader or a second in command etc. ) should explain that the faction is still up and running. - i am sure that there is no problem with a few weeks / months of low activity - but the faction should still be running. - rumors won t help there at all.

so if scorn does not come back - it would be nice to know if the reason for that is that he is just tired of freelancer, has no time due to RL stuff or ... maybe there are other reasons that do not include the first 2 options. - it should be looked into it in case if fixable or not.

if scorn does not come back, the second in command should take over and try to get the faction running again.

making a faction when everyone wanted to ba an AI ... thats an EASY job. - now is the time to prove if the faction can make it when AIs are not as fashionable anymore.... prove that the faction can still attract ROLEPLAYERS and add to the disco servers enviroment.... if necessary - reform the faction from the very base. ( other factions have done it, too - just recently i learned that the NovaPG has sort of reformed completely in terms of faction history etc. )

the faction HAS more to look forward than other factions that form up. - if you manage to succeed, you get your own ID, your own ships - thats stuff that other, much larger factions and factions that have been highly active for a long long time waited ages for.

so i d suggest to pull yourself together - gather what you really have and revise the faction concept. if you don t get new recruits.... its mainly due to the fact that the server has changed and the faction has not - time to change then! - if it turns out to be too much work .... face the inevitable... maybe the time of AIs is gone, and AIs are "only special RP chars" anymore - but not whole factions.... .

** and if you give up, i ll have the harvester cruiser put onto an inaccessable base and request to fly it exclusivly:laugh:

i'd back this up, this basically conforms to my entire view on this proposal/discussion/whatever. i'll wait untill scornstar gets back.

and Balthazzar, nothing personal, but i am rather doubting about your intentions here. scornstar has, as far i know, not left for good. so i find this "rush" to replace the harvesters by something else a bit... shady. it looks to me, though it may not have been intended as such -i could easily be mistaken-, as if you are trying to take over the faction.
again, nothing personal, this is just my impression of this.

oh and as a side note, before any acusations of only turning up for this now are thrown at me, i've recently fixed freelancer(again...). so yes i was away for a while, but im back now.

Now that Scorn is back there will be no need for splitting up, having our leader back brings every aspect back in balance and we might just be able to make it in time.

I revoke all my decisions of course. This is HIS faction after all.

For all those confused about what just happened. This was as stated nothing official, but an attempt
to preserve his ideas, which according to our own could have not been managed without him.

For two days i had no response from Geisha, an being aware that she's playing on USA server and that time was ticking and almost up me and snapp had to act.

I haven't spoken with Snapp as i just heard of this, but my decision is final, if there is no anarchy there is no need to fight it.

I was serious about how time is short. We still have to act quick.

I've done what i thought was in our best interests, and thanks to no means of a successful conversation and discussion this was the result, and i was ready and equipped to pull it trough.

Just so you know Snapp and Balthazzar all harvester with lower numbers then you are in command more than you, Harvester 03, 06, Guard 00 have all benen active, I have not seen any other harvester other than 18 and 25 once the whole time I have been guard but they were there only for a short time when we raided New York.

I have doing massive RP with junker Congress on Guard 00. I am sure if you talk to Bishop he would agree I have doing more things with them then any other harvester at this time, yes guard 00 mainly sits in Sigma-13 on top of Yanagi Depot but thats his Job he is a Guard unit he defends Harvester, Junkers, corsairs form their alliance with OPG and the Junker Bases.

You were Jumping the gun with this threat and remaking the harvester clan.

Two days are not a big deal some people have personal problems and cannot be online 24/7 maybe she also wanted a break from the GC server who knows before you start complaining about someone being gone give them at least a week.
