So, now it's actually a good idea for Bombers to attack a BS by surprise in a nebula? Awesome:)

Hallelujah! All GMG pilots rejoice!

Seriously, it's about time the nebula gives us an advantage in game... rather than just in lore.

EDIT: That goes for all factions whose RP traditionally uses Guerrilla warfare.

So a capital ship would lose one of its primary anti-fighter defenses... in a gas cloud...

Hmm. Where have I heard something like that before?

(Edit: I see DeathsOverture was thinking along the same lines.)

I've noticed the flak turrents work great in combination with the primary turrent but it was only done in tests with a single bomber and single fighter individually but it can still require research in the matter

Thats because of auto-aiming.

Come on! Be free!

Fail.:PSure a gas cloud will stop the battleship from firing flak effectively, but all the bomber's SN and nova would be hindered by the gas clouds too, meaning you can't fire SN from more than 1k, or one of the many gas clouds block your shots. Not to mention the constant damage you would get from the gas cloud explosions..

Just one problem. Gas explosions hurt much like flak does. So all you have to use is your pirmary anti-fighter gun. (that is solaris) to down their shields and after that they are gas food....

I used gas flak through out 4.84 and gas clouds are a bad place to be when you are in a fighter....

That's actually amazing. Real motivation to stay in open space for battleships!

Err... yes, but does this just happen in nebulae with explosive gas, or in any nebula at all?

Yeah, explosive gas clouds are fail..."GMG beat back the Rheinland fleet by ambush tactics, and using the nebula to their advantage"...sure...the BS just needs to drift into an explosive gas pocket and the bombers are done for...

Personally, I think it would be nice to see the gas pockets not do enough damage to hurt a fighter, so one could use them like asteroids: to hide from capship fire.
