The thing has a more robust powerplant than anything else out there. It can dish out 3 supernovas for most vessel's two. It trades out the ability to mix it for top notch bombing capability.

Rheinland has three vessels which can unload a snac:

1) Mjolnir: Which, while not being an ideal bomber platform at all, has a torp and a CD. Making it ideal for Nova work coupled with brutal SHF capabilities. It is an epic vessel.

2) Snubnose: One of, if not the, best bombers in the mod. Has a heavy powerplant, super small size and has four guns and a forward firing turret. It doesn't have the moved of its lighter bomber brethren, but if you sat it's subpar you're a nit.

3) Fafnir: With SHF robustness and the ability to rain down more antimatter shots than any other bomber in the mod she is absolutely amazing when put to the task of taking out heavy cap ships.

There's very very little wiggle room for complaints about Rheinland bombers.

The Recycler is essentially a Mjolnir clone. Its power regen is low for a bomber. It's more of a SHF with dual torp slots than a bomber persay.

I still think the turrets should be moved from the top of the bomber, perhaps place them similar to the Wraths turret placement? a.k.a. back of the round reactors.

They have been moved lower, I believe, which we'll be seeing next update.

I agree that turrets that can obviously shoot forward if they would just try are extremely frustrating.

Just a nitpick, the Barghie is limted to Rogues and Molly's only.

Barghest is a pirate bomber...

Fafnir a pure anticap bomber... No point in having a CD. You fight as a part of a team, otherwise a single VHF rapes you.

If you want to bomb caps and be able to hold your own against a fighter, get a Mjolnir.

If you want to bomb caps in large groups, get a Bergelmir.

If you want to own cruisers solo, get a Fafnir.

Simple as that.

Class 3 or 4 turrets would give it less overall firepower, but they would be usable in more directions. Then if they had the option of a CD and took that opportunity, they would be even worse against fighters, but more flexible in protecting the borders.

I dunno, as I said elsewhere, I'm in a thinking creatively sort of mood today.

Possible? Yea. Going to happen? ...Maybe. Maybe not.

While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack

Thanx for this really valuable information Del,

so it's not covered by the rules to have the Barghest
as an independent pirate (LR or MR affiliated)?!

If this is law, no problem with me to make it an LR,
I've had many "contacts" with LR's starting in Single Player
and continuing here so I feel kind of familiar with them;)

John

Cheers

John

Just a note, people might react better if you stopped putting "?!" and just used "?".
