RE: Trade Report

Hello everyone, hope you are all well,

Met up with Sir Alisdair today in New London and decided to do a small trade run to Hamburg as reports from Liberty suggested Pirate activity up there. Soon as we jumped into Cambridge, on our way to Cardiff to pick up Berl, we came across a Corsair and his friend who wanted to tax us both. Sir Alisdair managed to strike a deal for us both that saw us pay a tax but the Corsairs would leave the system.
At this point BHG|Stoat, a fine fellow i may add, asked if we needed assistance and he agreed to escort us on our run. Everything was quiet all the way to Hamburg, no dought the escort of Stoat and his gunship put off the bad guys.
At Hamburg we came across Mr. Roj Blake in the Dawlish who joined us for the return trip via Dortmund Station, Planet Stuttgart then home to New London, again with no trouble.
A fine sight the three Gateway vessels with our escort made, even the BAF on our return home were glad to see the convoy of ours returned safe home.
Unfortunately, New London was my last stop, i was getting some engine trouble on the port side and i had to get it checked out.
Our escort was paid handsomely, as was deserved.

On a side note i would like to thank the board for appointing me ADTO and i will do my utmost to carry out my tasks to the best of my ability

Fly safe

Calum out

SUBJECT: Life as a trader

Hello all,

As the new guy on board, I thought I would just report in with a few thoughts. I have been running cargo between Rhineland and Bretonnia mostly as New Liberty seems awash with pirates. It's a game of cat and mouse - and sometimes the pirates catch you and sometimes they don't. Not done too badly recently and our armed forces do us proud.

The recent convoy with Sir Alisdair and Calum McDonald was a great experience - I was very surprised to leave the station in Rhineland and bump into fellow Gateway ships! Perfect timing.

I decided that the Firefly class was just a little too small in terms of cargo and have traded her in for a brand new Shire class transport (I was inspired by the GlenCoe!). She is a big ship and I've had to hire extra crew....but it's worth it, although I do miss the Firefly for it's speed and easy of handling. Next on the shopping list is something better than MK3 armour - although not sure where to pick up the next upgrade from, any tips?

I do hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to flying with you all in the future,

Roj Blake

I'm here to let you fellow workers know that I'm not buried under paperwork, with the DTO promotion. I still have time to ship goods in the Gibraltar and give advice and assistance to fellow traders. Today I ran a run involving Bretonia, Liberty and Rheinland. The commodities involved were Gold, Beryllium, refrigerated Luxury Foods, H-Fuel and Neon canisters. Loaded with Gold, I set off from the Hood, bound for New York.

No major pirate threats were encountered on the way to Fort Bush, but we did encounter a member of the Hellfire Legion in New York. Thankfully, he avoided our ship and we could continue onwards to Fort Bush in order to sell our load of Gold. We took H-fuel to Manhattan, then replaced the canisters with Neon ones

We safely flew to Cambridge Research Station. Almost five million credits was pocketed from the Neon deal - a nice sum for a safe trip. We headed to Cardiff Mining Facility for the next part of the trip, to pick up Beryllium.

The Omegas were strangely quiet, as no pirates were encountered. We sold the Beryllium sold on the planet-side metals exchange for a profit of approximately four million credits. A nice sum for yet another safe leg of the route. H-fuel canisters were loaded and we set off for Planet Stuttgart.

We bought a large shipment of luxury foods headed for Planet New London. After sampling some before takeoff, and Matthews and I were satisfied with the quality, we set off for Bretonia. No incidents occurred in the Omegas and Bretonia, and we safely landed on Planet New London. The foods were offloaded onto land transports and taken to warehouses. I love the taste of credits - almost five million were made from the food.

In New York, on the second run through of the above route, I encountered an alleged smuggler with 4300 dangerous artifacts in his cargo hold. I alerted the nearby LPI officer on patrol and she requested I provided evidence of the smuggling. The cargo scan readouts will be transferred to an LPI officer as soon as possible.

Guten Tag everyone,

Today was barely eventful. I met a pair of mercenaries in Leeds, outside the planet as I returned from Perth after giving a shipment of Silver to the Planetformers there. They offered me an escort, however, they didn't seem very trustworthy, taunting the Armed Forces about something when I emerged. I didn't take their offer, and told them we were retiring to Kensington after laying the Ship Hull Components safely on Southampton.

After I left Southampton I continued to Kensington for Mining Machinery. Getting to Douglas safely, without even the notion of a Corsair or Hessian attack, thankfully, I left for Planet Hamburg with a shipment of Polymers. Nothing of significance occurred, even when I returned to New Berlin with Robotic Components for the ALG. At Dortmund I retired.

A good day,
~Gunther Koch

Sadly I don't think the border 'as opened up, lookin' at points 0.3 and 0.34. Sadly freedom o' trade ain't in sight yet in regard to the borders. Not sure o' Rheinland's point o' view on the blockade, but I'm assuming that it will be much the same. Can see if we can get Dee ta maybe open communications with Rhienland, ta see their point of view. Don't hold much hope though.

Keep safe Jubal, and Gimpy too,

Alec out.

Guten Tag again,

Today I managed to run from Cambridge to the Hood with Pharmaceuticals. From there, I took Gold to Liberty. Everything was quite quiet. At such a point as reaching Manhattan, I took Neon for the Cambridge Research Institute. Despite being stalked by a Junker through to Cortez, nothing came of it through to Manchester.

At New London, however, I was accosted by an Outcast Gunboat. Apparently they're getting bolder in Bretonian space. What caused a Gunboat to move so far out, though, is beyond me, but, the man demanded that I give one million credits to the orphans of Malta. Now, I have never heard of Malta, and if I am going to give them money we don't have because of our gaping Tau market, then the man better look poor or scare me into doing it. Strangely, a Gunboat didn't look too poor. If the kids need some toys, melt down some of your giant guns and make some toys.

At any rate, I got scans of his vessel, and some portions of our conversation:

http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj139/K...r/screen136.jpg
http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj139/K...r/screen137.jpg
http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj139/K...r/screen138.jpg

In the end, I called a BAF ensign to assist me. Ashley Taylor and Austin Goodmen reached me just in time, when the Gunship started firing. They managed to distract him long enough for me to get to Kensington. A blessing they came when they did.

After a small hiatus and repairs to my ship, I continued my run to Rheinland from Cambridge. Runs with Beryllium to Altona had little to complain about, and I even met some employees of different divisions who were quite friendly. However, I did spot a Corsair accosting a trader in Cambridge. I called Frau Taylor again, but, I don't know if she got there in time.

On the way back from Hamburg, I brought Robotic Components to Freistadt. Nothing of significance, again, but, I met the same fellows I had seen on the way to Rheinland. From Freistadt, I picked up Copper for Liberty. Unfortunately, I was accosted again in California. This time I was met by a Rogue Gunboat and a Rogue Werewolf. At least these didn't pretend to be poor. Their mugging of me was clearly stated, and I appreciated their honesty. However, as before, I asked for help from the LPI. Thankfully, the LSF also appeared, chasing out the La.Villa.Strangiato and Bunter.Munter.Hunter, and allowing me to escape.

From Denver, where I left the Copper, I took Superconductors to Southampton Shipyard. An anticlimatic end to a very exciting, and scary, day.

I must say, the Shire is a powerful hauler. Great cargo space (perfect for fitting larger units in, such as mining robots and machinery), combined with powerful turret coverage (all angles defended). If escorts are not available, and you feel your ship isn't handling well against angry pirates, I would suggest acquiring a Shire.

Here's the combined log for my shipping yesterday:
