Why would a political group like the Unioners side with a dangerous "pirate" group like the Hessians?

And why LWB and Bunds? Don't they have different motives and political views?

my 2 cents
Unioners are not a political group, thats the Bundschuh who are much more inclined to intervene that part. Besides, Unioners are more oftenly focused on piracy and have similar goals with the Hessians.

Unioners are loose and brutal pirates those who also work for overthrowing the ruler regime of Rheinland, which is one affair intersecting with the rest of other 3 partisan factions' in Rheinland.

Er...what Kress says.
I imagine the Unioners to be far more often involved in basic violence rather than 'just' piracy. Almost terrorists in fact (One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter).
I'd say they are closer to the SCRA than they are to the Hessians but with a far more limited scope being involved almost solely in Rheinland rather than Sirius wide like the SCRA.
Hessians should definately be closer to Mollys in my opinion. They have almost identical backgrounds and enemies, i.e Corsairs and the lawfuls in their own areas (and in the Hessian case, the Bretonian lawfuls as well).

If anything for Rheinlandic unlawfuls, Unioners-Bundschuh makes the least amount of sense to me. Mainly because it'd be quite bad publicity for the Bundschuh to be working with such a group outright. They already have ties with the Hessians so that would stay, and the LWB could work, as they're pretty much the least threat in Rheinland (and the current war could lead to better PR that way).

Gaians shouldn't be allied with Corsairs. FA, sure, but not sure about Hogosha.

Mollys-Hessians makes lots of sense to me.

For the Rogues, have LH, Unioners, and Mollys? Basically, their criminal business partners (and not just distributors).

Somehow sorting out the Order would make a lot of sense, too.

Wilde friendly to all!! Errr, wait.

The Rogues should still be allied to the Outcasts, as many many ingame rumors say something to the effect of "the disorganized Rogues look up to the elite Outcast fighter pilots".

Wonder how often it must be said, Corsair and Gaians are not allies. There are only friendly terms between them, along with a permission to dock at each other bases for trade.

Corsair and Hogosha have close ties, because of the artifact trade, but their ZOI is strictly separated and Corsair don't interfere much in Kusari internal affairs. Corsair npc do pirate a bit at the border region from Honshu to Sigma 13. Thats all.

Corsair and Farmers Alliance hardly ever meet and to speak about an allience here is benevolent. Artisan Farmer Alliance is a different matter, because their rp differentiate from the generic FA behavior.
However, even AFA priority are Kusari internal affairs, Corsair do not interfere with.

To summarize. There might be allied terms between playerfactions, but terms to generic npc factions is friendly, not allied.

The only true alliance is Corsair/Order, because they share strong enemies in the hidden worlds, megalomanic Bountyhunter and Nomads. Order and Corsair conducted a massive technology transfer and Corsair built ships for Order before they established their own shipyard. Both are fighting together against the odds they both have to face.
Since Order does not face the Outcast under regular circumstances, Order care less about Corsair-Outcast rivalry.
However, i think Order would not look friendly to Outcast worshipping the nomad entities.

Outcasts "worshipping" Nomads is something only Outcasts should know, in-RP. The whole in-RP attempt to inform all of Sirius was sickening powerplay. IMO, Order and Outcasts should be grudgingly neutral.

Exactly what i meant, but neutrality will turn to hostility in no time if Order ever will be aware of this worshipping and spy's or people willing to trade informations for their benefits are everywhere.;)

On the one hand, I whole heartedly agree with you. The problem is, there's been many incidents where the Outcasts and nomads have not been discreet about this. I know I've seen them being super friendly with them a couple times with non-Outcast and non-nomad characters. It kinds of makes any secrecy moot.

I think, it is almost impossible to change NPC alliances. It would be huge work: NPC spawns, NPC in bases, bribes, reputation system, infocards, rumors.
This polarized system - outcasts/corsairs, will be probably forever. Some small adjustment could be done.
Alliances between players factions can be done freely, of course as far as it has sense according to NPC relations.
