Also the texture you're using is too repetitive. You need to use one that varies a little more and is less.. Yellow. The entire planet looks the same as the rest of the planet.
You background also needs some work. Stars should fill the entire background, but lighter in some spots, and more numerous in others. To be fair, proper starfields are some of the hardest parts of a spacescape, but it looks like you just used noise then eraser. What you need to do is use noise on a low setting, so it's dark. Copy the layer till you have three, then put bottom layer on normal blending mode, 2nd to bottom on multiply (you'll need to fiddle with the transparency settings to get it to look right), then the last on one of the blending modes to lighten it. Just scroll through them until it looks right. After that you use the clone stamp tool to make certain areas have more stars than others.
Once it looks good, save the file as a PSD to preserve the layers, then flatten the image (or merge only those three layers if you've got the planet or other objects already in there). Then duplicate that one or more times. The original (bottom) layer should be on normal blending mode. The others should be on screen or overlay (whichever looks better) after coloring that layer. To get stars of different colors (some blue, some white, some yellow) you'll need to do a bit more complex methods, but remember that to the human eye and from such a huge distance, no matter what color it is, it's very bright and light. Even red suns will appear almost-white. What you want to do is tint it just slightly.
Nebalae are a whole other matter, and I suggest you go look for tutorials on those (and on doing more complex starfields).
EDIT: On the spherize effect for the planet, you need to do that TWICE for the planet. Select it, spherize, keep it selected and spherize again (100% both times). That way it'll look proper. Your planet's edge is too crisp and clear, it doesn't look rounded like it should.

There you go!
Again sry my fault.... wait a sec... not circle?! Ill give you! It is perfect circle!

What Dab said too. I didn't feel like commenting on the actual details of the image <.<
As "image" you mean that planet, or entire space art, because if for SA, then i must say, that Backround was made quickly... This threat is only about planets after all...
Erm.... only now noticed Dab's post. xD

As the topic would suggest, I was referring to the planet in question. At any rate, I'm done here. Supper's ready anyway. Good luck.

OKay, here was my try, other than the fact that my texture was too small I rather like it.
