Agree wholeheartedly with Drake here.

Take it a step further ... since Freeports are supposed to be neutral to all ... any faction that owns one should be neutral to all. If this is not possible ... might be time to change ownership of Freeports from IMG to Zoner. That or just give Freeports to the Neutral faction.

"Freeport" is just a name, not necessarily free to all. The rules on each station are decided by the owning faction. The IMG-owned "Freeport" is free to all but their enemies (including Outcasts). It's their choice to make up the rules on that station, just like zoners have chosen to allow everyone (bar their enemies) on their "freeports".

Perfect time to get pirate ID, as I don't need to repfix myself against all the house authorities anymore.

Some bases are also considered 'freeports' without actually being called 'Freeport enternumberhere'. Barrier Gate, Battleship Hood, and Invogoroborodon (whatever it is, the Junker base) Spaceport, to name a few (that might be all of them, actually). Barrier Gate and the Zoner Freeports are the only ones who really welcome everyone, and Barrier Gate is slightly on the unlawful side if you listen to the rumours.

Many many many players also treat Junker bases as if they were "freeports." Keep in mind that Junkers are quite friendly with the unlawful element. Junkers are quite neutral for the most part.

Incidentally ... is the Pirate ID the only ID that is auto-rep'd? Or will this be extended to faction ID's and other generic ID's as well? I've seen my share of BHG ID's hanging about Junker bases ... even with Junkers being neutral ... those that hang out at Junker bases would most certainly not like seeing the BHG hanging about.

Seems like most IDs autorep now, which I'm glad to see, for the most part. There have been a few problems with factions made hostile when they perhaps shouldn't have been, but Cannon's working things out.

This is absolutely awesome. And the best part is that if this becomes a permanent addition to the mod ... we can delete a few rules in the rule book. And we won't have to worry about OORP stuff like pirates being friendly near lawful bases/planets ... or lawfuls being friendly near unlawful bases.
