cruisers were balanced to be able to handle 2-3 gunboats at a time. battleships can easily handle 2-3 gunboats at a time. gunboat were made to be primarily anti fighter/bomber, but the option to provide anti cap support (pulses/razors) was kept open, but players had to choose- either pure anti fighter, or pure anti cap. no "jack of all trades" like in previous mod versions.

3+ gunboats can slowly wear down a battleship, but it all comes down to time and skill. 3 gunboats can also wear down a cruiser, faster than a bs obviously, but one wrong move and the cruiser will eat you alive.

missiles, if used correctly, are very useful. they've saved my hide many times already now, so im going to have to disagree with your claim about missiles being useless.

2 gunboats can easily take a cruiser, have done so in my imperetor with a friend against a praefect, even though i had a BR, i only really used the cerbs and pulse, because for the ammount of energy it uses, the dammage is pretty miniscule. And when using 4 cerbs, you really have to watch your energy consumption.

I can imagine shredding cruisers if they're left unattended, the only thing I wonder about is how to survive the ones that are awake. Gunboat's a pretty large target for that mass of turrets to chew through.

They arent that bad, the only thing you really have to be careful of are mortars and the like, they shred gunboats.

Although, my opinion is that only the Battle Razors should be more powerful.

One of those things to a bombers hull should be able to take it out.

Id say increase the range of the gunboat weapons by 100 meters. I mean, those turrets barely fire farther than most fighter weaponry, and the turrets themselves are how many times bigger than a fighter weapon?
