Well, yesterday (might have been two days ago) in a raid on alpha, i (stupidly) followed a fleeing BS to malta in my bomber, and got attacked by an entire fleet, the main problem was the gunship, those things rape you. So when everyone else finally turned up, i ended up screaming 'GET THAT BLOODY GUNSHIP', because no matter how much dammage bombers can do to BSs, BSs cant do dammage back, gunships and gunboats can. Imo, any sensible bomber group will target gunships before cruisers and battleships, because once they are down, there is much less oppositison and BSs are nice fat undefended targets.

Pretty much.

A gunboat can and will dish out serious pain to bombers and fighters that are occuppied. This tends to be the reason why GBs will be the first capship to go down, even more so if they're carrying missile turrets. Using this as a stepping stone, I can agree with everyone who's said that GBs serve a better role in fleet battles, or in support: if that bomber is too busy trying to SNAC something else, it WILL get hosed by a GB faster than a fighter could do it. Of course, when those bombers decide to focus on your GB instead, then it's time to call for some help; I've found that bomber pilots tend to to have a one-track mind on their target when they want to take it down.

Ehem, Gunboat Razor projectile change anyone? Large plumes of white antimatter sure clouds up the screen.

Maybe a slightly larger version of a Guardian projectile?

And, ehm, I'd say there should be a limit on gunboat missile turrets. (As with all caps) And yes, I own a gunboat with missiles on it and it seems like I've got a matcen in my cargo bay.

If bombers get nerfed, don't worry about GB : they will be fighters/bombers killers, for sure. And it will give an utility to the cruisers : killing GB.

I'm a gunboat whore, and I'm going to tell you this now:

No. They don't need any improvement. If you want to improve ANYTHING on them, beef up the armour slightly, or increase the turning slightly. I slaughter fighters and bombers in my Rogue gunboat, and I've fought off both an LABC and an LN Siege cruiser at the same time with a second rogue gunboat partner. All we used was 6 Rogue turrets.

Missile turrets! They are overpowered for the lack of ammo and CDs and CMs do nothing.

I would only vote for increasing weapon range to 1200m or so. Other than that, they are fine.

Seriously

They do.

CDs own them, CMs don't work, but meh, they are CMs, they don't work on anything! Skilled bombers avoid them every time.
