Effectivity of AA light battleships

DO IT !!! REALLY !!! DO IT NOW !!!

1 mortar (not the heavy one)
2 pulse
2 razors
1 flak (make it close to nose, its purpose is to counter nova spam)
6 solaris

Just do it !

BS : you flee them, let the bomber wing get them, that's not your job. Anyway, the BS aren't faster than yours.
Dessie : pulse + mortar hit them hard, they don't last long and don't hurt you so much if you do it well and you have 1 bomber for help.
Gunboat : double razor on hull, try it and tell me I'm not a genius !
Bomber : solaris and if they just MIND to engine kill with no shield, razor it !
Fighter : solaris only ... btw you have twice their range and they don't have your 1000 b/b.

Battleships are just too big to be AA vessels. The turret view rotation is too slow to keep up (for me) and it just takes too damn long to kill a small. Leave it to gunboats. I've always supported the idea of not letting any one ship be good at everything.

Fighters for Bombers => I agree but please include gunboats when they are 2 or more
Bombers for Gunboats, Cruisers and Battleships => 100% agreed, that's their job and why the battleship have nothing to do with other battleships.
Gunboats for Fighters => Include bombers and cruisers. Just that all is depending their gunload
Cruisers for Gunboats and Battleships => 100% agreed !
Battleships for Cruisers and Gunboats => include bombers and fighters as well. They really do the job but should fear the cruisers if that cruisers are in good hands.

AA Battleships ARE the way the whole mod will get finally balanced !

I trying something similar to it. You know what they do? Go out thrice beyond the range of solaris/razor/flak and just snipe.

I find this setup is only good in big fleet battles because anything smaller and the bombers are just going to snipe with the snac. If anything needs nerfed its bomber agility or snac range, stupid thing is the op from original cs.

Im going to give it one or two more attacks on malta before I say yay or nay but the whole "hey lol lets just get out of range and the whole setup is useless while we pound the crap out of it" bit is just silly.

I have only been in two raids on malta so far so this haughty and unwelcome whining/attitude needs to go. You know I could whine when 4-5 outcasts dreadnoughts steamrolled crete last night? Do I? No I went out there got blown up and then changed to a different character, no need to get so emotional over it.

No body's getting emo, I helped hold space. That is a great victory for me. As long as you don't mess with MY texas, I don't really care. In fact, go blow up everything in texas, just leave the planet intact and I will still have fulfilled my national guard duty.

I've flown it a bit more and I can say this now. Its terrible outside huge fleet battles. The snac just has to long of a range to make this effective unless you have way more fighter escorts then the bombers or insanely good fighter escorts to keep them to dodgy to go and snipe from range those bombers will outlast you if you dont have that and be out of your solaris/razor/flak range the entire time. Solaris need a range buff because they can barely shoot behind my tiny bs and thats just absurd.

Im probably getting rid of this setup it is completely and utterly not worth it.

Might I suggest, instead of more power hungry Heavy Mortars...

Dispense with the Heavy Mortar, its obviously there so that the Battleship can have effectiveness versus other Capital Ships, but the sheer power of it was designed to attack other Battleships, which as an AA ship you would not be regularly doing and thus is more occasional.

Whilst a Mortar allows you more flexibility, you can fire it and have enough or close to enough left to maybe do a BattleRazor snipe, its good versus most Cruisers and Gunboats.

As for Anti-Fighter/Bomber, I recommend Solaris's, yes yes, range suxxorzlolz!!1!

But I cant tell you enough how many times a Bomber will dive you and then get half his hull gone... And if a Bomber Pilot tries outranging you, your facing an intelligent player so thus go and use your brain, situational awareness and adaption.
Maybe try 'run' from him and then as he starts chasing you he might get a bit to close or just fly straight after you allowing you to get off a BattleRazor snipe and a few shots in at him, if he snipes you with a SN just call for fighter backup... Hes not going to be able to instantly kill you, you have time on your side to think, to dodge...

Basically what everyone is telling you, is to focus on the MINORITY - You wont be regularly facing a Tri-force of Walker, Jihad Joe, Tesch, Tomo, Ench, and half the 101st, etc... pulling out so many strategies and etc out of their arses... Instead go for the majority of what your facing, which is including idiots and average players who have a brain but maybe not godly divine skill... And god forbid you lose to the minority cause you went for the weaponry spec that would get kills on 80% of Disco, instead of the 20%.

Im probably going back to anti cap setup (and i hate heavy mortar never used it once) because Im not going to be flying around in a setup that works only against people that are not good. I will not put such a ceiling over myself. Its pointless.

Then again I am flying a bs I would hazard to say bs are pretty weak.

Ill say again it has been an eye opener for how terrible solaris are because of their range. They can barely shoot past my osiris's engine due to how short range they are. Thats absolutely pathetic!
