I zipped throuh this thread pretty fast because I already knew the problem and I knew this wouldn't solve it
. Even if you nerf the bombers to the exact stats of a VHF and only let them use Minis (yes exact stats of VHFs) the escorts of those nerfed bombers will not be able to take them down fast enough. Go ahead guys try it. Take 2 Fighters with MR one with a CD and go after a transport with an equal number of fighter escorts. Escorts won't do their job fast enough against themselves let alon bombers. Nerf, nerf bombers, like that was ever the solution. Now you know it wasn't. Nothing ever needed to be done to the bomber, the fighter guns should have been buffed from the beginning (or in the case of GMG have the nerf removed and brought back up to Vanilla stats). Even if the bombers were able to equip the same buffed fighter weapons it would have been the appropriate solution as the issue is to drop the bomber before it blew up it's target not the one on one issue of a bomber being able to instakill a fighter pilot when the fighter jousts the bomber. Buff the guns (in the case of GMG remove nerf first and than buff with the rest)
Edit: I ain't complaining about current bombers yet or more presicely their weapons as I haven't tested them yet. I'm not too concerned as we train by using SNACs to kill each only. Yes two SNACs can be placed home before the shields regen, we do it to each other, repeatedly to make ourselves better. Anything more than a SNAC is helpfull too so I'll probably not mind the new bomber equip anyways.
bombers are now extremely lethal in jousts. more than ever before. so, don`t joust them.
however,
when you are not jousting a bomber, the situation hasn`t changed at all. you still can`t damage the bomber enough to be an effective escort when in a VHF. so with regards to fighters vs bombers, nothing has changed.
escorts are still useless.
and bombers can now tear up caps even more eaily, being no longer dependant on the snac to shield/hull bust.
I like the specialised role of the bombers. I find the new guns to be fitting and cool. but the balance vs VHF hasn`t shifted at all. the balance vs caps has only become worse. now caps need to fear SNACS, hullbusters, shieldbusters and torps.
guys - maybe the bomber concept is wrong.... so what. - thats what we re testing it for. - when it turns out that things are utterly unbalanced, we can change it. - but i d really like to give it at least a few days. - many a players are complaining based on stats or hearsay without having had any serious group pvp or duel.

Solution is simple return bombers as they were and improve VHF's
Stop nerfing...do opposite...if you think bombers are to powerfull...dont NERF them...instead improve all other ships
Now one good step forward is that bombers cannot use same weaps as VHF.
Next step has to be:
-Increase fighter weapons projectile speed
-Drop bombers agility.
BTW thanks for dropping the Falcata's agility. It was really tiresome trying to battle those things.
Maybe these whiners needs to learn to play. Don't just sit on forums, go play, learn, have fun. I'm not happy with all of these changes, but what hell, life goes on, we will adapt, too bad now if you want to raid something you'll need huge cap fleet as backup, so it means we'll have more caps online, since fighters can't harm them much, bombers can, but they get raped by few fighters, not to mention full solaris bs, witch are now very trendy. In the end i think and hope everything will be back as it was.
The bombers are fine now and they were fine before, slow moving projectiles with a big punch. Those of us who can hit Sabre flying player's with a SNAC are a small minority. Those poor Fighter guns though....needed a buff probably several mods ago. The long duels between fighters may have been fun but really it becomes an issue when the fighters are escorts or in large fleet battles.
Edit Add: I read Joe's post, yes I agree, I've felt that way for sometime.
