In my eyes (and I clarify My), battleships and above are purely instruments of roleplay, and for them to have any prowess in battle wouldn't matter to me. I'm pretty sure they're already pretty useless in PvP but I don't know since I haven't flown one yet, but for all I care we could make them PvP useless and purely tools of roleplay.

However, that plan leaks more than a net and a much simpler way would be to apply for battleships the same way you apply for an AI-ID or The Barge.

That'd probably be the zephyr. Always recommend them to the zephyr, primarily because it:
-Sucks completely in combat
-Cant openly attack too many people without being sanctioned
-Can really only attack outcasts, who have much bigger and better lolcapfleets

The real problem with Discovery is the constant whining, bickering and labelling going on here on the forums. You would find you had a much better gaming experience if you approached the game and other players with a healthier, friendlier attitude instead of looking to put everyone who doesn't fit the mould down.

Kill the non-english speakers with fire and SNACs.

Kill them in their Trains so they do not start shooting you in their battleship. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing "I see you are a hostile. So am I. Well, let's start the shooting!" in Cyrillic.

Actually, for them, it's more, "OC DIEDIEDIDEIDIEIDDEIEDDIEEEI"

or just have your factions use 3 bombers when battleships come online.

Srsly, how often do you see keepers take out our battleships? No, when the lolwutter caps come out, we use bomberswarms, and it works much better.

Sadly this couldn't work - the lawls sufferers will simply do the bare minimum required to secure the "Shiniests and bestest" ship. If you're talking about introducing new ships, the only way this could achieve the desired goal would be to have them as on request ships only - but then the poor admins would have to sift through the myriad of requests that people would undoubtably submit to get their hands on those ships.

There isn't a simple answer. About the closest that I can think of would be an extreme tightening on the rules surrounding capital ships such as forbidding a battleship to engage first under any circumstances, but I'm disinclined to actually support such an idea - I'm a great believer in as few rules as possibile to enable the admins to be as flexible as possible in how they deal with each situation.
