The Order is only really unlawful in Liberty, AFAIK.

The Order is not a terrorist group.
They were branded that when they seemingly committed terrorist actions during the Nomad War (Attacking the Donau) but they were in fact not terrorists. They are not committing crimes against innocent people to further their idealogical cause. Ergo, not terrorist.

You're confusing the Hessians and Bundsuchuh... The Bunds' are the political revolutionary group, the NPC Hessians are the ex-revolutionary-now-pirate group. There's a reason the Hessians are fighting the Corsairs in Omega 5, and it isn't to protect Rhienland or fight the corrupt government, I can assure you. It's about territory and criminal influence, and possible expansion into Bretonia and the deep Omegas/Omicrons.

Political Revolutionaries = Bundsuchuh. Piratical angry miners = Hessians. Terrorist ex-shipyard workers = Unioners.

Cuz honestly the only friggin war that is just is Order vs Nomads.
And Fine. I'll spend cash ona faction that fights all unlawfuls.
You people like being killjoys.

And ORDER ARE NOT TERRORIST.

Sprolf said it, I yell it.

You must be pure Libertonian...
Or just dont read much.

Thanks for the comments though.

Besides, no faction would want me; I manage to screw up alot.

Unless you've been in a cave for the whole time this mod was out there you'd know there is a war between Bretonia and Kusari have been going for a long time already, there is a conflict between Liberty and Rheinland, there are Corsairs and Outcasts. There is Gallia and it's warring factions. There are many wars out there. Too many to name actually. To say it's just one conflict that matters and only that one exists is being really narrow-minded. Expand your role-play, try other roles and places. Discovery hasn't covered everything that it has inherited from vanilla Freelancer, far from.

There is no place for another contender in the conflict between Order, Nomads and BHG. It's a nice love triangle here and I think we're fine with that setup. We're not "killjoys", it's just you who need to realize and find yourself a suitable place fit for your ambitions, where they will improve role-play and activity in areas that need them, instead of trying to jump on the bandwagon already full as it is. It's about being reasonable and not just carelessly rushing into the area already pre-occupied, and then wonder why everyone gives you a strange look. Truth to be told I for one would really like to try something far from Omicrons, away from this whole stuff about Nomad/Order/BHG/Corsair/Outcast.

As I noticed that for some time The Order , helped by the Corsairs with recruiting pilots I think The Order has gained quite much members and they can handle the Nomad "invasion"( considering that at the moment the nomads are recovering from their great loss in single player) and I believe makeing more Nomad-fighting dedicated factions wouldn't have it's purpose.

It is worth noting that the intelligence agencies for the different houses, (Liberty LSF, Bretonian BIS, exc) will go out of their way to hunt nomads, more so then for attacking normal pirates.

Are these agencies specifically for hunting nomads? No. But they do dedicate a good chunk of their efforts into fighting them. They are intelligence agencies, after all. Rooting out and destroying nomad-infested individuals is a task well suited to such an organization.

Regarding intelligence agencies I'm afraid you're incorrect as you do not consider the situation each of those houses are in right now. Bretonia is largely occupied with the war against Kusari, with the situation in Leeds it does looks grim. Not to mention they're on the opposite side of Sirius, far from Nomad worlds than anyone else. For research purposes they have abandoned city in Newcastle. Kusari on the other hand have Aoi Isenjin to deal with, just as Rheinland has Das Wilde. This pretty much leaves only Liberty, but they don't go far into Nomad systems (except Alaska of course) either because between them there is the Order, besides now they're in a conflict with Rheinland. Spreading resources thin in times when you need them the most is a bad idea.

Sure, it's certainly something they are interested in, each in own way, but exactly "hunting nomads" isn't the one. Hunting alone does nothing really, they'd want technology (and there you have BHG Core), not playing white armor knights. They're not some kind of animals you hunt for, that would be a terrible underestimation.

...

Actuall... on the other hand... I reckon that calling WWF and PETA would be far more devastating than rolling in sun crusher thingy. May as well play dumb animals, haha... Kidding.

Treewyrm is correct.

Unfortunately, the PvP-geared gameplay of Disco make it difficult to do other things that might be more peaceful things, for instance, conduct simple espionage. And thus, many people have this wrong idea that the intel agencies of the various houses make it their business to go around shooting people up. You would never see a real intel agency, like the CIA, the British SIS, or the FSB do that.

But, in a game where you're given weapons in a game and told that there are people or things out there that really really dislike you and would like to see you impaled on a stake, you typically do the obvious.

Great RP does come from carefully planned events where no PvP is desired, but more than often, things go awry, and everything escalates into a fight of some sort. I wish it were some other way, but the fact is, Freelancer isn't just a RPG, its a 3rd Person Shooter.

Quote:They're not some kind of animals you hunt for, that would be a terrible underestimation.
But, I am sure that many ignorant human inhabitants of Sirius would think of them that way. In a sense, it is a terrible act of Metagaming, since most people should not know about that much about the Nomads. The BHG and the Order obviously take them very seriously, but to be honest, I can see this stereotypical British Big Game Hunter going, "Well, heck, I've shot everything that moves on Cambridge, what's next?"
