I don't know, I am sure that there was a Saying that there shouldn't be a second Barge, maybe bigger than 5k too. But seriously, why do you want to trade even faster? people will just get more stupid than before.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"

That.
I don't want to trade faster. Actually I want to trade even slower (in speed terms). It's just my Mastodon is not big enough for me anymore.
I'm not desperate for bigger transport but I would be pleased if we got it
You could trade in a Juggernaut. There actually isn't anything stopping you. Yoda-[T] used to do it, when he wasn't farming thousands of Nomad NPCs and never logging off.
Other than that, the Barge is quite an interesting challenge to fly. Tinkerbell could speak more to that than I, though. In the event you -do- make it to your destination intact, you make about enough for a cruiser in a single run... which probably took you a few hours. It's big enough that it causes mini-events simply by logging on. If you want a gigantic tradeship, apply for one. They're the simplest of the admin-request things to get, as I understand.
Quote:Trading right now it terrible (gee thanks Xoria), the ships are pretty bad too, it's a joke really. Then again, if it wasn't, we'd have lolcaps everywhere.
We don't already have lolcaps everywhere?
Guess those LNS carriers are all contributing members of the community, then.
Anyhow, that doesn't discourage lolcaps. They're perfectly fine with lolpowertrading their way up. Try to look at it from their perspective. In most games, the more time you spend grinding, the more awesome you are. Therefore, the more they have to trade, the more awesome they are when they have their battleships.
On the other hand, it totally discourages legitimate RPers who don't have time to stop and RP with people while they're trading because their profits are bad enough as it is. Me, for instance.

As the proud owner of a Barge, I can pretty much attest to everything here. Also, I can say that you DO NOT want to trade in a Barge. That's not what they're designed for. They are designed to facilitate the exchange of goods from smaller transports, much like a depot or base. Some people have tried to trade in theirs, and it is hours of tedious work.
As for mini-events, that is very true as well. Whenever mine comes on, there are always looky-loos and the like checking things out. They really attract a crowd. Probably like the Imperial Yacht would too, if we would ever see it. And the Persephone, and the Necrosis (miss you Dreygon)
Quick Edit: @Deleno: 34m an hour is actually, in this economy, a decent to good route. Higher than many. You can't go by what FLCompanion says about credits per second and such. You have to fly the route end to end and gauge your time by that. FLCompanion doesn't take into account logjams at the gates, NPC-disrupted lanes, random acts of non-kindness (ie piracy), and a myriad of other things that actually happen ingame.
