The outcasts have 1 major planet with 1 major city and a few smaller cities in the mountains. They have issues breeding and are suffering from a declining population (look at the feud with synth-cardi). I would estimate that the outcast population does not exceed 200 million (this due to the inhospitable environment on malta [and crete for that matter]) That means 100 million working age outcasts working mainly on the growing and cultivation of cardimine foremost and utmost. What percentage of outcast society serves in the military? If you population is admittedly so small, how can you ever compete with the economy of houses with many planets that have populations that sometimes reach the double digit billions on just one planet?
And yet its "the richest house" with a fleet of dreadnaughts. I know why they call the 101st "Ghosts"; it must be what you crew/build and supply those battleships with
' Wrote:Oh, they can have a fleet, but they would still have nowhere near as many ships as a House fleet. I know it was established somewhere that the Hispanic factions had a lower population due to early starvation and issues with reproduction/population control.
Of course it wouldn't be as large, but that is uncontrollable; remember that if Corsair expansion is successful, the population and fleet would grow exponentially. Already Corsair warships are matches for House ships; expansion, as should be occurring now, is not impossible.
' Wrote:There's obviously nothing that we can do about the Order-Corsair Alliance now, but in the beginning, Igiss could've chosen any other faction that would have made better sense than the Corsairs. And the Corsairs living near Nomad systems is irrelevant. The Nomads never came close to Planet Crete or anywhere near the Corsairs bases. They were only limited to that nebula cloud in northern Omicron Gamma. Besides, Alaska had Nomad patrols in it also. Liberty was just as vulnerable as the Corsairs.
In Vanilla, they weren't unfriendly; the extension is based in fact.
What do you mean its irrelevant? Nomad patrols are a common sight in the Malvada Cloud; if you want one close to a Corsair base, head to Delta and Yaren.
If you look at this logically, you'll find that now Toledo is down, Crete is next on the menu.
Liberty wasn't quite as vulnerable due to the high Order presence; practically, they would have to go directly through Minor. Despite Toledo being destroyed, there is still a high Order presence and strong fleet. In roleplay however, The Order is crushed. Now Liberty is vulnerable; however, attacking Liberty first would lead to alliance between the other Houses and failure.
It is important to remember however that the Corsairs are in and attacking Nomads in their worlds;
Logically, the Nomads are going to target those who aided The Order, so as to weaken any attacks on them. The next logical path is Gamma; this puts them in a position to launch attacks on Kusari, Rheinland and Bretonia. They would be in place for a full-scale offensive.
The Nomads tried already to eliminate Humans in a single sweep; this course of progression reclaims their worlds, removes resistance and sets them up for a full-scale offensive. I imagine Kusari and Rheinland would be first, due to the catalysts of The Wild and Aoi Iseijin(specifically Hanta-Iseijin).

Estimation isn't fact. Whilst you can't compete, you can still have the capacity to build a fleet, over the course of several years. For the Outcasts/Corsairs to have any chance of expanding and reclaiming their rightful place, they need a strong military presence.
Oh, this is still going? Can we get a TL;DR version please?
And yes, it was mentioned many times that inRL, most of non-house factions wouldn't have access to capital ships (or to capital ships in large numbers) due to various reasons.
Just like these caps are required for balance purposes and to keep people interested in the mod.
So balance is >>> then realism in this case. You remove caps from factions/mod, you will reduce their player base.

tl;dr Nomads are going to hit Gamma next; Order-Corsair alliance is fine, and Hispanic fleets can be easily justified inRP.
However, it would do well for you to take the few minutes to read.

Oh and bros, remember that Outcast population is growing thru' slavery despite the effects of Cardamine.
From now on, think twice before wasting 10 minutes to post something like ''DUHU!!! OCz haz not beeg populeysh00n, they haz cardi-cola and they cant haz make beybiezz DUHHUHUHUHUHU!!!11!1!11''

Actually, their slaves either die on cardamine plantations or just die elsewhere. This is nothing comparable to real population. But then again, it was already said in the beginning of this thread, and guess what, nobody cares and just goes on chanting about outcasts being new chinese.
