Shame I lack a modeler in Kishiro, we could use some improvements.

Can we see them? Many of those models are not in the developers forum... like the RoS shipline or the IMG one. Can we see them? One more question: Can we see them?

yes they are in developers forum....but not everybody all can see model section. Both factions, Ros and IMG, have seen their new ships and they have been approved by their leaders....

As for some factions/house, whatever not getting new stuff....Its because of time....to shorten time between releases....new stuff will be available in 4.87....

I for one can imagine a ship that can turn the tide for Bretonia and be decisive in their war against Gallia....same is for rest of sirius....it will evolve during time....


Also....models with issues will be fixed last...when everything else is working as it should then, we can turn to work on them if time allows...

I have been assured by Turkish that you have worked on the model Gurjiv and managed to make it workable and it has been submitted. The fact that the ship is not present, comes like a shock to me.

the second bit is incorrect. i had taken the model from Aidan and had textured it to 95%, but i had told him that i hadnt finished it and that it required some updates to the trimmings regarding the texture job, something he said he'll get done, so i sent him the mesh back and left it at that.

Time passed, it was never done, and hence never submitted to me as a working model. i do not have the files anymore either, so its not like i can pull it out and get it done and submitted now either.

Although I am not sure if this is the appropriate forum I just wanted to make a comment / observation:

The dev team has worked very hard in past releases to remove import ships from the game, especially those that are most obviously imports such as the Charon, the Arwing and... I know there are a lot more, but I just cant think of them at the moment. Regardless, in my opinion, the Homeworld ships are a big issue when it comes to imports as well as when it comes to overall quality of models in the mod. Although these ships are not the most recognizable in terms of instantly knowing where they came from, it is quite clear from their style that they do not belong in this mod. The other issue with them is their extremely poor quality in terms of texture and polygon count.

Personally, I think they drag the quality of the whole mod down. High quality ships and models is one of the things this mod does so well and having those other ships mixed in.... it almost dispels that. Considering all these ships are for low levels as well, meaning people use them before they have the opportunity to use other quality models, it might discourage new players. Heck, one of them is even acquired with a restart command.

What really bothers me this round is that replacement models were made for many of these ships (by Jinx), and at this point they are not slated to be included. I accept the fact that there is probably a reason for this. I dont think that the community is necessarily owed an explanation or that one should be provided. I do think that the priority given to replacing those models is inappropriately low.

On and even more personal note, I think im just very frustrated and disappointed. I have always felt very strongly that the Homeworld ships needed to be replaced and for the first time it looked like it was going to happen, and with awesome models even. Now it just feels like the rug has been ripped out from under me, the wind has been removed from my sails, the golden goose has laid a poo stained egg, etc.

If Jinx made replacements, he had a hard drive failure about a month ago and lost everything. The models being submitted are the ones he was lucky enough to upload to the dev forums or send to people before it happened.

I am trying to improve my own modelling skills to a point where I can actually create replacement ships, but it is a slow and long process.
