They don't, other than saying "it's another species of Nomad," which is ludicrous if you know anything at all about Freelancer.

We are learning History in textbooks.
We knew what happened in 1200 AD.
800 years ago was the Renaissance period.

There. We still remember thanks to old books and stuff. However, we cannot rule out the fact that we had archaeological help. We dug artifacts up from that age. In Sirius, the people do NOT have an Earth to go digging up old stuff. So I guess they could have forgotten.

But...I still think they would have brought data about Earth. Unless of course they hate that polluted mud ball so much that they choose to forget about it.

Destruction of Earth did happen. Most of Sirius is not aware of this however. The light from the explosion will reach Sirius in some time from now. It hasn't yet.

The information that someone observed Sol explosion is based entirely on someone's imagination, it was never mentioned neither in Vanilla nor in Discovery, and was never intended by us.

Quote:Of course, it doesn't make sense in the Freelancer we know - it wasn't included with the game because it didn't fit.
No reason to say that.

Explosion happened quite some time after the Sleeper Ships fled Sol. Since they travelled FTL, they could not be affected by explosion or related emissions, and could not detect it. Therefore, Sol destruction could not have any impact on forthcoming events in Sirius.

As for someone fleeing Sol after the explosion. We don't know where the landing took place, remember. And what happened to the knowledge afterwards. In "our" canon, the public has no knowledge of the event.

Here's the long intro. I have no idea why they didn't use it... It's so much better than the one they're using now...

Because it was from an earlier stage of development. Notice that some of the background music is from the old Star Trek movies?

They didn't use it because the final story changed. The Nomads were found on a planet by Rheinlanders, not WTFBBQPWNing Sol for no apparent reason other than it was there, and then coming to Sirius to finish the job.

With all due respect to Igiss, he's dead wrong. They dropped the extended intro for a reason. It fits into the storyline about as well as I fit into a pair of women's hot pants.

You guys really don't want to see Captn in a pair of spanks.
And Orrillian started the order. Listen to them talk about the order...its brand new. They've not been setting up base for centuries, or even decades.

Thank you. What Blue was looking for is this:

Can he inRP claim that a few astronomers noticed the star that everyone would know is Sol giving off a flash of light and then fading out. An astronomer that saw that would likely think the star went super nova and thus he would think Earth destroyed. Meaning your common border world folk could RP that they know Earth is gone, regardless of what others think (because its unlikely people in the border world would suppress that knowledge minus the SCRA.)

If the light from the super nova hasn't reached Sirius yet, then everyone would assume Sol and Earth are still there.
