So far, I suppose. But it's better to wait and get the Congress and some of its members to actually weigh in. Maybe I should have laid it out early on, I don't lead the faction anymore and do not represent their thoughts or intentions.

Yeah I know... :( It makes me sad. I miss Junker Rudo.
Yes the Congress needs to get involved in here. Could just be that they're asleep right now.
BTW, kudos to Dancing Lady for being the designer of the original idea that started all this off.
Also, if we went to the event server idea, I don't see why it would matter if we used full shiplines for each side instead of just transports. Balance isn't as much of an issue when you can instantly respawn and jump back in with no penalties.

It's GMG Rudo now. I didn't move far. :P
Though I might rejoin the faction as a simple member. Someone's got to teach the new guys what's what.
EDIT: And yeah, I vote to just make it full shipline on both sides as well if it's going to be all fun and games. Though we're going to wait for the big guys to weigh in before anything actually gets carved into stone.
Also, thanks Dancing Lady. There aren't enough events surrounding the two factions. That was my big failing as faction leader and I'm hoping things go better for the .:j:. now that it's led by people that actually make plans instead of talk.
Why do we need a predetermined storyline? Why can't we let the players and their actions decide the outcome rather than the developers?

Indeed
I'm rather against using the event server for a /restart event. A day-long event will swing both ways, and it will be rather difficult to declare a 'winner', and setting it all up for a 1 hour event seems like it'd be fairly inefficient when we all have ships already.

The /restart server is a good way for people to try other factions that they don't want to risk 20mil on setting up a fighter or whatever. After doing the Delta/Minor event, I'd like to play as an Order character. It's good for spontaneous AND preset-RP, people can jump in at any time, learn about new factions, try new ships.
I see what you mean, though, about recording the ups and downs through a long event, or making a short event worth it, but making it an event without /restart on either server requires participants to already have a ship, or to create one. Setting up a ship is not easy, though from what I understand, neither is prepping a list of /restart ships.

That was always my big failing in the past as well, it's why I've been trying to make more Hogosha/Junker friction lately.

Because it's virtually impossible to measure anything as far as outcomes on an event server.

Let the faction leaders decide on it, at least.
