Nah, the thing is that when i saw that detachment i saw a message
"F U guys, you aren't competent to show a good picture of us, so I'll operate this freeport alone and do it on my own. We're still cool, but you suck balls when it comes to politics"
but mostly you just said "whoops, not my battle. Pulling out" and when things went back to normal you were "hi guys". Right or no right, I doubt that anyone has more presence around FP11 than you do and that alone should not allow any faction to "kick you out of there".
EDIT:
It's not just the food, its the pharmacy and the entire roleplay that managed to make Zoners stay alive. Look at omicron Theta. Give me one sane reasons either outcasts or corsairs wouldn't claim it for themselves. When zoners came they didn't come with 25 destroyers and said "mine bitch" they came with biodomes, things Corsairs needed and well, outcasts too. They came bringing gifts and by their politics they remained there.
The frikkin profit is low, so what? I didnt say being a Zoner is a walk in a park. I said it's frikkin hard. But check this out.
Imagine if few freeports separated and actually managed to form awesome relationships with everyone around. A zoner belonging to a faction (factioned zoner) could walk to freeport in Kepler (or galileo, wherever it is) and buy counterfit software. He would then have a protection (or eyes) from the lawful forces all the way back to the outer worlds where he would sell that. Because everyone would be happy to help a guy, who's faction is helping the other factions develop roleplay.
Corsairs get food - corsairs get stronger, corsairs get pharma and water - corsairs prosper. corsairs develop great relationships with zoners - corsairs get biodomes, corsairs get biodomes - zoners get a true and dedicated protector - zoners get that - zoners prosper a lot. its just an example, but it's how roleplay works
I'm all for Zoners being independent of each other for RP reasons, but there are 2 things that this independence among freeport affiliated groups will not change:
1: The casual allegedly lol-whut whales which call on zoner neutrality when they get pirated... those whales people seem so annoyed with... they will still be there. Have the Zoners actually ever taking measures against a pirate who pirated those? A whale pirated by an Outcast is likely to be pirated somewhere near FP10. Most likely FP10 was one of his trade stations. So he will ask the Zoners of FP10 to FR5 that pirate, or complain to the Outcasts. Doenst make a difference if he asks just the FP10 Zoners or all Zoners in Sirius. If the pirate attacked him near FP10, he probably doesnt care about FP9, just about FP10. So... this part of the alleged "problem of zoner power" will not go away if you split Zoners into Freeport groups. If you ever considered someone being pirated trying to come up with arguments to keep his stuff a problem... that is.
2: The guy "bossing around people near the Freeports"... where a pirate got annoyed that he couldnt pirate near a Freeport or shoot in the NFZ, so he put up a bounty on all Zoners to show everyone how p***ed he is. The evil Zoner that didnt side with the poor pirate... and the poor pirate that got totally upset that someone who lets him dock also protects other people from him... they will still be there if the Zoners get split up or even if the only combat ships they fly in future will be eagles. The Zoner doesnt have to kill him.. he can FR5 him or complain to the pirate's Outcast bosses. And the pirate that gets a red swollen neck when his victim takes refuge at a freeport... he will still be there too, and this Outcast will rant just as loudly if he gets FR5ed only at FP10, an not on FP9 aswell.
This anti-zoner lynchmob fad that is going around is a sociological phenomenon you can expect in regular intervals here, no matter how you try to appease. Some people get angry and know how to manipulate certain other people, and they get their powerplay. Whether Zoners have Juggies or not, or whether they are united or not... some people will get p***ed that they couldnt pirate someone, and as long as people like to join lynchmobs, this sort of thing will keep happening.
When I make a under the table pact with.. let's say blood dragons about not touching Kishiro| ships at all, we make sure the deal is honored. And to add a bit extra, I suggest them to harass the indie Kishiro ships bit harder, so they realize what perks they can have should they join.
Same thing can be applied to zoners. Consortium makes a pact with Corsairs. They bring supplies and are friendly with Corsairs, and Corsairs like them. While ago, when one group made a pact with Corsairs, corsairs didn't touch anyone from that group. Dumb.
Consortium helping excuses Consortium from being touched in Corsair space. Others are fair game. If indie zoner runs to freeport, I'll back from it OUT OF RESPECT for those helping me. They're already doing enough by not caring if indie zoners get blown up.
some people like the incentive way - to show how they can win
others like to harrass - to show them how they loose
but - its up to those who apply it. - some people even like to do nothing of that sort at all - and leave others to remain how those others like to be. - not everyone wants to change others. changing others is often used to display dominance of sorts - an urge to be "better" than others in mind and ways. changing others means that you have the power to change them - but playing that power may not always be beneficial. - especially if the urge to show others "the way" is applied no matter what.
there is a difference between:
- employee A just joined one of those fancy gangs, who re friends with the supervisor - they re going bowling - and still need more for the team - so he tells employee B - "why not join in, - they re all cool, and you make friends with influencial people!"
or
- employee A mobbing employee B for not being in the same gang. and telling his supervisor "you know, employee B is a really shady type, you might wanne check what he s doing .... "
in both examples - employee B might see the error of his ways and join the gang. - either through positive incentive - or threats.

Well, Ivan, I appreciate the sentiments. But, those who wish to Zoner bash don't have the same thought process that I do. A lot of my Zoner RP has a bit of RL mixed into it. Most know but for those who don't, I've seen war and it's evils, having fought in one. I walked the streets of Basrah, Iraq, after the Iraqi military gassed it's own people. I saw such images as this in RL:
Someone once asked me, "You are a military veteran. Why is it that you RP and lead a pacifist?" Sights like that in RL, having been in combat myself and killing in the process, I wanted to be something else, a man of peace. This was the way I chose and I built Med Force One.
My idea of living the Zoner way was in part, due to this. Also, I just didn't feel like doing the military thing nor do I have the pirate mindset. Dab said that he could make me have that mindset after a few days. Nice thought, Dab, but forget it. I have the belief that for Zoners to live where they do, they have to give a little to all of their neighbors to co-exist. My mindset is slowly changing to that of which Sprolf once told me, "Neutrality is giving nothing to anyone." So, he hid MF1, he closed Baffin, which was what kept Doc's Outcast neighbors on good terms. Mind you, he didn't do it to piss off everyone, which it has, but to "give nothing."
Oh, and did I say that I know who the two are that posted those bounties? I'll keep it quiet but I couldn't RP with them in the past and I won't push trying now. Gradually, my Zoners will just fade out of existence and everyone will get what they wanted.
