Again, mate it just doesn't work out. You cannot switch ships in combat, and again. This is pointless because the issue at hand is not being discussed! The bombers under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should be able to consistently kill fighters. It just should not be....there is no reasoning behind it. I mean even in Starwars they acknowledge that bombers need escort....

A bomber should be able to kill a fighter if it's stupid enough to stay still. Otherwise it shouldn't stand a chance. But this has been talked to death already.

The novas are fine in my opinion, but i agree with the inferno and mini razor changes. Having specialized weaponry being stronger than the general one in one area sounds good.

right now the Nova is a superweapon. in a fighter vs. fighter dogfight everyone is trying to get that one lucky shot with a nova.
i personally think they should use ammo
or
completely use all the energy you have and then some. maybe make it so your energy hesitates to recharge after firing it leaving you vulnerable after firing it and forcing strafing runs.
i lean toward making Novas and the others only available for bombers personally
Don't whine about how good your enemy is... learn how to beat it. Bombers are easy prey for fighter pilots that know how to use anti-bomber tactics.
Tank's idea for the damage done looks good though, although what will happen is that every single bomber will mount a Mini-Razor and an Inferno on the same bomber if the damages are balanced as he says. In general, a good idea, however.
Actually, now that I think about it, a good way to weaken bombers against fighters would be to *increase* the damage done by Novas. In fact, double it. Then half the refire rate and increase energy usage.
i mean, the amount of damage they do could be justified by using something like an energy cell to allow smaller ships like bombers and fighters to use them with their smaller energy capacity. it would still take the same energy to fire it as it does now but it would require one energy cell per shot. to me that makes a lot of sense.
