It IS clunky, but spend some time in Conneticut or spend a day or two constantly dying whilst being very confused, and you will have learned it. Strange thing is, it seems like most players are oblivious to this new feature, so you will have a great advantage against ships your size or bigger.
Edit: also zoom out a fair bit, and your aim will be assisted. Someone uploaded a video to YouTube of zoomed-out gb turret steer and aim while doing evasive manoeuvres and I personally learned a lot from that. Can't remember where the video is found

Yeah I hid them:cool:or at least tried. Some people still have the links.
As for what GB to choose, if you're going unlawful be an OC, they need some love. That or Gaian, if you want a smaller GB.
Even with the discouragement I am still tempted to get a Hacker boat, I love the speed on that thing (or used to love, not sure how much it changed since .83)... but now that it was mentioned, the idea of an OC ship is a rather interesting one, I had a Tridente back in the day, it was not a bad ship... the problem is the general lack of Outcast activity will be somewhat depressing... though I could constantly poke Gallics, IMG, and Kusarian forces... even visit Bretonia perhaps.
The Corsair one still sounds good... and I already have a Corsair repped so I can just buy the boat and do a /renameme on it to a more Greek name to fit the Corsair lore (some independent has to try). I am not made of money though so I doubt I could do better than a CAU 3 or 4, and since the Corsair boat is all about heavy armor I am not sure how well I will fair without some really really heavy stuff mounted on it. That and I love my Titan, ah well.
I will think about it more I guess. I am still super clueless
Corsair boat- a bit of pirating and you got it- you need to make 15-20 hits to safe 160m for cau6- and this is basic for corsair boat- but it is doable in a 1-2 weeks with a lot of activity or in a 6 months when you are casual player like me. I managed to rob around 300 m till now with my corsair boat.
If you can use GB properly you would do more then well even with cau1, GB is not only about the armor but more about shieldrunning right and shooting back at the same time.
