I still think it's weird that OCs are not allowed to engage piracy in Liberty. Some of the famalias don't own a cardimine field and piracy is their mean to create income. Oh well, good thing that I don't have any character of neither side.

Well basically it's a turf thing...

Outcasts simply are too far away from home when in Liberty and besides...they have a whole nation.

Their ZoI is also big enough to find RP elsewhere...and Liberty isn't the only place where to attempt piracy;)

Well nothing in the rules keep the OC from pirating in Liberty. I do understand that the Rogues need to protect their one and only turf, and that there might have been problems with players creating Liberty-based OC pirates over Rogues to the nice gear (before the 4.86 nerf). I think most sensible OC players can see why it is reasonable that the Rogues calls dibs on Liberty, especially when cardamine trade and not so much piracy is the main goal for OC's as a whole.

On the other hand I feel like the OC-Rogue cardi-connection is maybe a bit underplayed. Compared to real life terms, the Rogues would be the middle men supplying the streets, where the OC are the "top dogs" - the OC have the choice of choosing other middle men, whereas the Rogues can't choose another supplier. I.e. an asymmetrical power-relationship, where the OC holds the main cards.

Now because cardi is a commodity that cant really offer any in-game advantages (compared to guns and ships etc.) I feel maybe this is a bit underplayed? In real life, the narcotics industry is HUGE (this cannot be stressed enough), and one would think it would count for quite a substantial part of the Rogue's income compared to plain ol' "smash and grab" piracy, and as such perhaps Rogues ought to be very very very careful not to upset that balance with the OC. I'm not talking about letting the OC be the masters of the Rogues' house or anything remotely like that, I am talking about going out of your way to show respect - also extended to indie players, as they are as much Outcasts as the official faction players. That obviously goes both ways, but again this relationship ought to be - if Disco is in any way supposed to be somewhat of a reflection of reality - asymmetrical.

So perhaps - in the light of the importance of the cardamine trade (especially for the Rogues) - tone down the OC-Rogue retorics a bit?

Realy strange, that OCs comming to Liberty, just to pirat there... There are miners in taus, Kusari to pirate (just take some GBs with you to spit BD who already hates OCs. :P ), Sigmas, Not sure about Gallia. Indep. words for the end.
But for those Outcasts, who spending much time in Liberty, working together with LR, helping them sometimes... Why not to let them rob some traders, together with LR? Sometimes, even just for fun. As wingman in raiding party consisted manly from LR.

Not much. Outcasts would be just a little nuisance, nothing more. They can't do much without support of the locals and Alpha is far away. Not to mention Outcasts probably need Rogues more than Rogues need Outcasts.

Imagine Corsairs in Liberty.

OC who actually prove useful in and around Liberty tend to be appreciated in and around Liberty. But it's our turf and you make yourself useful to us there.

Rogue OC relations are top-heavy, OC control the Cardi and we rely on it a lot. That doesn't mean they can wander in and act like lords of the manor making life difficult and causing a mess we pay for ultimately. An OC who ticks off the LN enough for them to sit outside Alcatraz all day pewing everything that undocks can faff off to someplace else and still have fun, A rogue is stuck with being chased about Liberty by the annoyed ones, he's got nowhere to run to. Of course we'll get annoyed if they're causing issues.

As for Vanilla FL OC-LR relations, I suggest you go look again where the NPCs are in Liberty. OC ones are found in very few places. Norfolk -> Texas Gate lane, New York Gate -> Houston lane, and Buffalo. Not a whole lot about that suggest OC are there for anything more than keeping an eye on things.

I have found Outcast NPCs at the tradelane between Westpoint and California Jump Gate, same with the tradelane to Texas. I have found them all around California especially the Magellan and Cortez Jump Gates. I have found them in Texas as well. Haven't seen them in Colorado though, nor Ontario. However, to say they're not active is a bit of a stretch.

I love Rogues, but I think that whole "Pay us or die" thing for allied smugglers is stupid as heck. It's just one more of these silly little rules a faction needs to make up either for cash or just lulz.

Rogues can only survive by being supplied by smugglers regularly, Rogue or not. This isn't thought out well, and in my opinion as pathetic as it can get. (No, I'm not a smuggler)
