I would let the rheinland unlawful factions fly the rheinland pirate cruiser again.

It would balance the other unused unlawful factions again.. as everyone is drawn to the hessains for their large ZOI as well as ship selection.

That and: A change to this rule

1. Excessive literature on the subject and conflicting views

Fleeing... not fleeing...

Jack the police officer cant engage whatshisface pirate without asking him such and such after traveling more then 9.9k while bob the constable has fled by sitting still in his bomber while observing a fight... ad infinitum...

I think Athenian once put it into perspective when he said in relating to the many server rules about fleeing and the complications therein:

2. Personal experience

I had a epic battle with the GRN once (although a bit out there in terms of RP)

Dab had just pewed an ICMG carrier with his own Gallic princess one and nearly killed it. After doing so, the ICMG called in a task force to deal with the lingering threat in Orkney. The zoner carrier fled into Gallia before we could stop it, and we tentatively, and after much inRP discussion about where on earth that jump-hole could lead and how dangerous it was, 3 zephyrs, 3 gunboats (one a freelancer in a trident;)<3 xander) and 4-5 CR/ICMG snubs. The carriers, we decided, were much to valuable to venture into that JH, and thus they remained in Orkney while the snubs and GBs jumped ahead.

Seeking vengeance, the tracked the carrier down, it was sitting at the Jumpgate to the next system covered by the dockable battleship there. bombers and gunboats started initiating sniper attacks on the carrier, and nearly half his shield was down when something that sends chills down my spine to this day happened.

Adrenalin coursed through my body, it was fight or flight.

Our carriers jumped in at once.

The fighters and bombers were in total dissary, half or more had been killed.

They were fleeing back to our location, Montpelier.

They finaly got there.. we geered up for an EPIC battle..

and then..

I realized that our remaining fighters and gunboats had fled...
Our three carriers stood no chance against 1 zoner carrier, 2 GNR battleships, and 1 GRN cruiser...

It was so disappointing...

We taunted them over system comms for the next 3 mins or so.. the GRN refused to cross council lines..

then time was up for the smaller craft.. they had to leave the system..

the carriers, standing no chance, left as well.


It was so sad... I had enough adrenaline pumping through my blood to keep me going for days, my hands were shaking, i was in a cold sweat... but... nothing came of it...

We should have been able to take our tattered band of survivors and go forth into legend, but it was not to be. Even though the craft were still flyable.. barely.. the powers above dictated we must leave.



Yes, I know it was a bit oorp to be in Gallia like that, but the situation can still be described as the most thrilling time i have ever had on this server...

I'm sure a thousand more things such as the day I experienced have happened elsewhere in Sirius.

All that epicness that was missed out on due to hitting the cruise engines.

I'd ask a few people to assist the admins by proofreading sanction reports and SRPs to weed out invalid ones.

Obviously you couldn't work on your own, but it'd be nice to streamline the process and reduce the overhead the admins have to deal with.

Not only that, but the admins would also be able to work through the backlog of old SRPs that are still pending, as well as clear out the sanctions.

Have some randomness in economy. As in commodity prices fluctuating in, say +-20% margin randomly on weekly basis. Making every trade run in game potentially profitable if correct conditions happen to meet.
Yeah, that would probably screw something up quite badly, but in my opinion the fun and break of routine would be worth it.

Jump drives and player docking on capital ships. I have a few ideas on how to get ot to work, too, just not sure how to code for FLHook yet.

Ok other one- I would like to see factions with more power and more attractive to the players, before you go Not U/Factionlancer read it:

Thinking about this what Clyide said in his statistics and seeing the server I am quite sure that you are not right.
For the unofficial factions well- some are doing extremely well with a lot of members- [Convoy] for example have more players then the official faction that owns the ID.

I would actually ask quite the opposite-more bonuses for faction players. A year ago there was the same discussion and I told the same thing:
Where is the benefit of Indie player A(with B id and iff) in joining faction B?
-with faction tag he will be Metagamed,
-he should show activity in Forums and message dumps
-he should show good RP, he should obey the faction leaders and be restricted by the ship usage
-he should answer the rage spilled in the feedback forums.

There are only obligations actually, if you have a couple of friends to play the NPC faction together you dont need to join the official one.

So I would like to see as I said in the armours topic higher grade armours for official faction Flagship(Cap9 X6 for example only one per official faction).
I would like to see some slightly overpowered restricted official factions ships too , not many of them but at least 2 or 3 per faction.
The People should have any motivation in order to join official faction, because now is harder to be official facton player then the same NPC faction player.

From this point of view indeed the unofficial factions who in a way copy the official ones in restrictions
but dont have even the faction rights to use and the authority of the official faction suffer even more.

The other point is that there are more then 60 official factions- the half of them have 3-5 people who are in and are quite dead in my opinion but they dont leave the place and the ID for other people who could organise faction better then them, so that's why unofficial factions exists.
If the system wasn't broken there will be no need for unofficial ones.
