Dynamic asteroid fields are easy enough to do but cause server load issues for us.

- Cruisers and battleships are only used by official factions. (Indies may use Gunboats)
- If a cruiser/bs is destroyed (outside from Connecticut), it will be transformed to a GB or smaller.
- UAU/CAU VI, VII, VIII only for militaries, not for freelancers or civilians.
- More bomber weaponry.
- Activation of the disabled mining fields.
- Remove the scanning of NPCs if you're in the same "faction". (e.g.: A rheinland police NPC who scann a RFP| -Player annoys me.)
- Repair the CD-crap.

Remove all armor upgrades and multiply fighter and bomber armor by 2.5, Multiply gunboat and Ku cruiser armor by 3.5, cruiser and battlecruiser armor by 4.0, battleship armor by 4.5 for light ones, 5.0 for heavy ones. Same for bots...

  • No more restricted IDs (CR, SCRA, Keepers, Phantoms etc.), no more restricted ships. Indies in every faction with access to any ship of that faction.
  • Each faction with its own ship line or civilian if they shouldn't be able to make their own (Mollies and Rogues, CR and IMG, etc.)
  • Pirate IFF
  • This (especially the Alternate Starting Profiles)
  • Buff missiles!

One thing that I would change is the amount of time before you are kicked out of the game for parking at a planet/spacestation. I know it seems only a small thing, but it is very annoying to be playing when you need to go to the toilet, or answer the frontdoor and come back 5 minutes later to find you have been kicked out and now are unable to get back in to the server. A couple of nights ago, I had been playing for about half an hour when I needed to go, came back about 5-6 minutes later and had been kicked. I tried on an off to get back into the server for the next 3 hours without success and finally had to give up and go to bed. Boy was I peeved!

In a word: NO. I say this for purely selfish reasons seeing as how three out of my five characters are currently flying indie Cruisers and I have plans to purchase a battleship shortly. As a point of fact, I know several people who own indie capital ships and I am quite certain such a change would be devastating to all of us.

Now, I have noticed the lolwut cap-spamming problem as much as everyone and I heartily agree that it should be dealt with, but please, for the love of those who enjoy capship RP, do not ruin it for the rest of us.


Otherwise, if I could change something it would definitely be to beef up transports in terms of weaponry/armor/powerplant/etc... As it stands, pirates have an astonishingly easy job at robbing transports and even the supposedly-more-powerful Liners. I have posted in another thread previously about the creation of "battle transports" which are more combat-capable, but have severely reduced cargo space and a greatly increased pricetag.

However, seeing as how this is not likely to happen in the near future, I would also suggest the opposite: reducing armor/weapons/powerplant/etc... but vastly increasing the cargo space. I believe there was a suggestion somewhere for a mini-barge which would fit the bill quite nicely.

In any case, those are my thoughts on the matter.

One last thing before I forget. Seeing as how the Resheph is a recon cruiser, should it not have some sort of more powerful scanner similar to, for example, the Spyglass scanner? Just a thought.

I would put a few game masters in place to unify the storyline directions given by the development team, with the roleplay IRP. These game masters would outrank guild leadership, and have the ability to gently railroad factions in the neccesary direction (or yank factions veering too far off-canon back in place).

This would go a long way to ensuring things keep making sense, and remain fun for those who don't want to spend days studying the intricate politics between factions. I've not seen any RP-heavy online game enviorment without GM's overseeing the roleplay, Disco should not be different.
