I have to mention again, that OOC Chat should be prohibited ingame on SYSTEM chat. This should be looked at before we start disabling PVP, even temporarily.

Gentle, I believe you may have totally missed out on the point of a RP (role-play) server. If all you desire is PvP, then that's easy to find elsewhere.

I don't think removing PvP for a period of time will solve the problem. It might help for a little while, but new PvPers will show up within a week or two of it being turned back on. On the other hand, it IS only temporary, so I say give it a shot.

I like PVP, I truly do. but when it comes down to it...I'd much rather RP....too many times has my RP been interrupted by people who shot me.....(:angry:RM:angry:)

The question is: why do those who care about both PvP and RP have to suffer this temporary limit? Like I said: go after the PvP whores, sanction them, improve rules and enforce those rules. Because in the end it's the PvP whores who are the source of the problem, they ruin the game, not us, so why should we punish ourselves? By trying to cut down the result of the problem we are not solving it, therefore I think the idea of turning off PvP on RP server is ineffective by design and that's why I'm against it. A week will do nothing - those you are trying to get rid of will just wait; several weeks may result in good members leaving the community behind; a month is enough to end it all.

So really, they would be okay, because they are perfectly content killing the Navy in 2 shots while floating about like the three evil cousins from Casper. Which is ironic...

But you couldn't enforce systems that you painstakingly bought for 600 million or anything like that.

PvP does not mean the inability to hit one another, just the inability to kill one another. Battles could rage on for cinematic reasons, but then again, in normal, everyday applications, it would be a detriment.
