Combat is part of Role Play- to remove it is to remove part of Role Play as much as it is to remove PvP. Role Play is about playing a role- the only role I can think of that doesn't involve any sort of combat is that of a trader, and even then, they may have to face combat through the looming threat of pirates and the like. Combat is as essential a part of Role Play as any other element you may offer. As I explained earlier, it's part of the circle of Role Play, and removing it removes a significant chunk of role playability.

This desire to excise PvP from RP will diminish the game for all. Once again, the cure is worse than the disease.

Has left this police-state to its fate.

Proposing to restrict PvP on the server is... useless.

First of all, this will remove all RP from the game. If you are capable only of chatting with other members, the whole concept of RP becomes pointless. A pirate waiting near a jump gate, defenseless trader passing by, they say Hello and pirate goes on killing NPC ships?

I did not get a single report about overpowered, PvP-overused ships in any mod-related threads in Mod Discussion forum (balance issues, general bugs). Now you say that many players are buying "PvP ships". What are the "PvP ships"? Can you post the fixes you suggest for those ships in the mod forum?

And the last thing. If we don't test PvP balance on the RP server during beta testing, after the release we will have situation far worse than now. There will be no balance at all, especially with all the new ships (and there will be more than 20 of them). During testing, I need those ships used for PvP as much as possible, since if they are not used, we will face many interesting discoveries after the release.

Basically, if PvP gets shut down now, we'll help PvP whores as much as we possibly can.

I refuse to have that button because it has no duality.

I like duality! I like PvP-RP because it has the two sides of the coin.

Also: Igiss spake, and thy earth hath crumblt beneath! Woe, this endeavor fails before it begin. Locketh away thine heart, for it pumps no more for the chaos of the thread.

Well, I'm a bit off topic but Igiss, many comments about unbalanced ships were made. At least two that i know of, Taiidan Bomber and the Raven's Talon. If you did not read the pages of complaints about the R-Talon then I don't know what to say. And as for the Taiidan, I don't know nor care really. But there were a few comments before.

I've read about those two, but I hardly remember anything about other ships, except that they are weaker than they should be.

And, for the Raven's Talon, many argued that it's balanced enough. I think I reduced maneuverability a bit for the new beta, but nothing else was needed.

Taiidan Bomber was fixed for the new beta.

That will fix a bunch of the problems.....

To be honest, I'd have made the RTalon stay agile, but lower its hull and powerplant. I just think that it looks sleek and maneuverable, I guess. Maybe it's just me.

The Taiidan didn't need a nerf. It's easily killed if *you know what you are doing*.
