Or, one Pennsylvania-like system for every house, and maybe something like this?

Barrier Gate is 100% much better option, just move the helium field there, make the freelancer base bigger add mk1 ships at one of the parts. It will solve some part of the liberty problem.

Most players end, with time crowdind in the same area(s) over and over again. Its a natural law of Disco!.

Thats my opinion, and that is about it.

The reason that people seem to gravitate toward Liberty should be obvious. It's literally the center of the universe. Of course, there are a few other minor reasons that all add up to making it the most popular hang out spot, but it can all be summed up in just saying "it's the center of the universe."

Also, there's a bit of a snowball effect going on here. For whatever reason, in the earliest days of Freelancer and Discovery, people liked to stay in Liberty. Because they started there, because it was familiar to them, who knows why. But it eventually led to there being a majority of player characters stationed in Liberty. And, as stated above, people want to be where the other people are. If people are already in Liberty, then go to Liberty. And it becomes a black hole drawing everyone in and never lets them go.

But as for the multiple starting systems idea, that's pretty much what spawned the /restart command. And I think it's the closest we're going to get, since it would probably be improbably difficult to code and create actual "buttons" that flash up on a new players screen. So /restart is what we have, and it's probably going to stay that way.

I say the only way to get new people out of liberty is to give them reward for it, "say like you put an ad saying we will give you this amount of credits if you come to our litle corner of space (kusari, bretonia, rhienland), and double credits if you bring freinds with you". just a thought...

In Kusari the navy gives gunboat sized cruisers, in Liberty there are Thrustless bricks like LABC and there are even people who fly it... :yahoo:

OORP starting system with 4-5 jumpholes: New York, New Berlin, New London, New Tokyo maybe New Paris. After you jumped to a system you can't go back to this place.
And design every core system to be newbie-proof (low level npc's, small mining fields, 1 system trade routes ect)

Most factions there offer startup money for new members. the problem rather is that people just don't know about it.

The discussion itself came over and over again though. We'll see if that ooRP-starting system full of jump holes will show up or not. (Though the restart commands provide you with maps and a better ship than the starflea)

Also, how about a starflea-missionwhoring event in Gallia? let's see how many we need to down those bombers

I tried, it's impossible. I couldn't even bite the shields D:

Oh and the reason people gather in Liberty is because there are the easiest NPCs. Put a restart command in a Nomad system, and see who restarts there. Oh and don't forget to give them a starflea, it must be hard. Maybe a Nom BS right next to the base/whetever ? Hmm..

Just an fyi, I'm not this guy.

It's harder to survive in other places as Liberty as long as NPCs are tougher there.

And, the people come to discoGC is because the server is crouded.

People come to New York because its the most crouded. (noobs, pvp-seekers, and rp-seekers are the same in this respect)

Same thing.

Maybe you could take some measure to raise the population on other servers, to make noobs go there more.

Like passwording GC at certain times of day, when its the fullest.

Or on certain days, just to make a bit more people start chars on the other servers.
