The thread's title is misleading. The point is to 'adjust' and 'tweak' all -other- mining ships to the usual level.

The problem with mining ships that don't have cargo holds is that if you're sitting there producing a nice cloud of ore while waiting for your transport to get back from selling, any old lolwut can just zoom on through and spam B to pick up all your hard-earned work without even needing to RP anything. You won't be able to stop them.

Keep the Hegemon as a mining ship, even increase the cargo (so it can hold enough to fill a normal transport), but make it impossible to trade in it. Speed/maneuverability equivalent to the Barge should do the trick well enough.

I did mine with a Dacite. It can mount a CD and serious guns, so if anyone did pick up my ore, I was on his tail, and forced him to drop it. If one teams up with a SNAC-bearing Mafic, the thief won't even be able to get far from the field you mined.

Think of it this way...

Make less demanding demands?
Make the demands more gameplay, instead of role play? (Sorry I had this line of how to say this better, I forgot it, but its on the tip of my tongue.)

Although removing Hego is ok.
But I think it ain't gonna happen because its a ship that exist for mining.
Maybe nerf its cargo hold down to 500.
Rest of the hull is filled with ore extracting stuff and machinery
and of course clubs where gir...
right. Well who knows whats inside mining vessels.

You apparently missed the part where even if you *are* teamed up with a transport, it's still a problem, since you either need to start making an ore pile while the transport is on its way, or make the transport sit there and wait for 40 minutes while you mine (which makes it unprofitable for him).

I have a hard time believing that you'd be able to take out a well-armored transport in a Dacite before you ran out of CD ammo even if it's ignoring you and not shooting back.

I admit I had to adjust my spam-6-CD-to-be-sure pirate-reflexes, but after it I could force a cau6 ptrans to comply under 40-50 disruptors.

Replace hegemon with a smaller ship with less caro.

Like someting with 1500 cargo, but less bulky and stupid in design.

Like that gas mining ship, it looks nice.
