Patience is fine if you have at least some idea of what is going on. However, it isn't nice to put effort into something only to find out that it is useless the next day. To put effort into a faction to only find out it is now useless. All that effort for nothing.
In all my postings I have asked for one thing. If the admins and devs have a problem, talk with us, allow us to work with you to fix this. Give us an inkling of what is being planned.
I actually do have some sympathy for you moderators. You cannot answer the questions posed to you, that doesn't mean that an admin or dev cannot come forth and state what they are planning. They should be able to answer a question, surely. Is the mining mod gone or is it merely turned off till they find a solution? Simple enough for me.
If you were truthful and actually explained why it was done and what solutions are going to be implemented, people wouldn't be so angry and would actually have far more patience. The frustration comes from the poor decision taken that left about 8 to 12 different factions with nothing much to do. Most are not trading factions, if you haven't noticed, therefore to suddenly trade would be a major change in their RP, one which they never asked for.
You duck and dive, instead of answering a simple question that would have saved everyone a lot of anger and time and might have made this a far more pleasant experience.
You know what is funny, I actually enjoy playing, why do you think I post these questions? If it was to merely irritate you, I would have been gone along time ago. For the last time, work with us. Explain exactly what is happening and how we can help.
' Wrote:Is there a reason to actually keep them? Yes. Nowhere is it stated that mining is for certain gone forever never to return therefore, with the exception of those who actually took the time to give fixing ideas, the vast majority of the QQ'ing that has been going on is nothing much more than shortsighted angry snot blowing
Funny side-effect I just noticed: With people being so busy Q_Q'ing instead of actually being on the server they complain even more about the reduced player count while they themselves don't play either and rather Q_Q instead xD
WORLD HAS COME TO AN END BECAUSE SOME IMAGINARY ROCKS VANISHED!!!

Imaginary? Next you'll be telling me there is no Santa Claus.
Seriously though. A lot of the pleasure gained from this kind of game requires a certain amount of suspension of disbelief.

I think mining should be spread around.
Kusari, the Sigmas (gas mining), Everywhere to bolster population and get people to SPREAD OUT.
Make the prices near even so nobody clogs one system like Dublin.
Dublin wasn't even that good...
If we create six equally profitable mining fields around sirius, only one of them gets used at a time. It's the one which is in the least out-of-the-way spot. For example, Daumann diamond mining in Omega 11, has been the best, most profitable mining in the game, since the day the mining mod was turned on... Nobody used it... Why?
Well to start with Pennsylvania's mining was right infront of people when they undocked for the first time. That's a stupid mistake we made, and it reaaaaaally needed to be turned off. So it was. Then we had Dublin. That's a vanilla system, quick and easy to get to, and importantly, known by your average nub.
Activity breeds more activity, so once you've got people in a spot mining, you can see more people going there and emulating them, and then you get pirates who suddenly have something to do, and then lawfuls.
So soon enough, everyone sees thousands of people in one spot, and so assumes that must be -the- place to go to make money when infact, it's really not.
BMM - Tau 23 (it's really rather good)
IMG - Tau 23
IMG - Omega 7
Daumann - Omega 11 and Omega 7
Kruger - Omega 7
Those are the profitable mining spots outside dublin. Nobody uses the BMM field in 23, nobody uses the Daumann field in 11 (which is the most profitable mining in the game, seriously).

Blame the flock mentality.
For the O-11 field I'd blame that it was so close to the RH guard system and one of their bases. It really was annoying if you didn't even have your full 15k scanner range to escape. Also, when I tried mining there silver was way more profitable, so it surely hasn't been the most profitable spot ever since the mining mod got turned on. It got buffed not so long ago though.
As for the BMM-field in T-23: I assume we are talking about Beryllium? That field had the same issue like the one in Cambridge: you were forced to sell your ore since it was not possible to ship it yourself. The selling places were the Ring in NB (Daumann station) or Narita (Kusari). The average player doesn't have the creativity to employ an Interspace transport to actually ship stuff across the border or even make one yourself. Bretonian players make Bowex traders, maybe gateway, but that's about it.

' Wrote:IMG bonuses for those fields suck. As well, as Daumann bonus for o7. And for o11 - Daumanns mined there sometimes, and Hessians pirated them actively.
Yes, because that's what's supposed to go on there.
Omega-11 is the most dangerous system that has house influence in it. And it's helluva worth more than any other spots to mine at. Endured Hessian criminals who fight off Corsairs on a daily basis in Omega-5? They're more than happy to have pirating duty in omega-11. Daumann is supposed to have an extanded fleet to protect their interests there, and their investments (such as slaves, etc). Omega-11 is somewhat far from regular military troops, so reinforcements take more time to come than other mining spots.
And the radioactvity. It's worse than the Hessians, in the long run.
