What will hurt is 1bil worth of junker chars that were mainly scrappers,but i guess i can refit,and turn them into Pirates,and join the lolwut's.
I wouldnt loose too much in fact, except a possibility to RP with miners and to ship the ore as an in RP action...
since i dont have a miner char, I dont loose anything. Except all the miner encounters on routes, for sure. Some nice talks to good RP'ers. And to the pirates, stationed there to pirate the miners/ore haulers...

I understand, that someone may say that all the RP of some chars is built up on mining... But as far as i remember, there was an RP server right before the mining mod... I have been here, too at this time.
And for sure, there was an RP, too... And people who were interested in playing on the server.
Surely, not so many folks in one place, like in the mining locations actually. And not that many good rp'ers at the same time in a sys. but either, not that many lolwuts and troublemakers and Q_Qers.
Such things always have a good and a bad side. And i dont want to judge about atm. Maybe we should just have a look how it will develop. Since we cant do anything at the moment...
I lose all my .:j:. characters, since my salvager was only used for scrap mining at Traffie (and the occasional DSE deal at texas) and the fighter and bombers were to protect scrap mining operations when we got the Barges out. That isn't gonna happen anymore.
My trader got consigned to shipping Ore. That can't happen anymore either.
So, I guess I can play my wife's Outcast ships and be reminded how crap I am at pvp...

The silent 'lolwut' Miners will just magically transform into silent 'lolwut' traders. There wont be much difference, except that they may have to trade 4 days, instead of two days of mining for their caps now. The people really affected by this arent the 'lolwuts', for them nothing will change. You dont need to be able to speak english to trade:P

It does affect me as a legit RPER....
And tbh, Now all people I RP with are generally pewing more then ever.
If the mining mod were to be permanently disabled, what would you lose?
Luckily it's not going to stay down... it'll just receive a much needed profitability nerf. But if it would remain down, what would I lose? All my characters since I'd cease playing on Disco. Mining is what I enjoy in this game, without it I'd not enjoy this game enough to warrant my staying.
