I always wanted a catholic OC faction, with a pope, and bigotry, and crusades, and the Reconquista of the Taus and the Sigmas.
Back than I didn't know how to make it cool and sustain it. Now I don't have time for it. But beware, I might get a well paying not too exhausting job sometime...
I got too many guys and from too many different, often conflicted parts of the world to bother integrating ANY religion into faction RP.
Officially, CR treats religion as the personal matter of each and every citizen.
Oh and... churches are banned on the same rules as political parties, labor unions and other pressure groups...
And before I forget - I already (twice) had a bunch of Maltese crusader "knoightz" and they got a response proportional to their "I'm more righteously powerful than you" attitude.
Quote:The Corsairs were isolated for 450 years and because of the harsh conditions on Crete it's fair to say religion had a major role in helping them survive that long. Because the corsair national identity is very strong embedded in their minds I think it's safe to say they have kept their Catholic believes.
Under very hard and despair conditions. To some Corsairs are known as cannibals... cannibalism in catholic
believes is a controverse topic. I remember reading one of that NPC-rumors saying that when they start
settlements on Crete, one whole family sacrificed theirself as food for the others. Despaired times, despaired
actions, yeah but hey, maybe this cannibalism could led the Corsairs to a certain religion seeking for
forgiveness. IF they see this cannibalism at that time as a sin anyway. Only Corsairs know that for sure.
They don't. With space travel becoming usual thing and science getting to that level, there is no point in religion. SP campaign did only show some rheinland guys doing mystic stuff, but it actually worked, so it's not a religion.
Of course, we have some religion-based playermade factions. Like the ORI. Guess how well they fit in.
It exists, in different forms.
I'd say that the current trend towards secularism continued, with the vast majority of the Houses, except Kusari perhaps, being quite secular. Religions would exist but probably as they do now in countries such as the UK - personal and private.
Though it might be worth analysing it in proper detail considering the state of the Houses.
Bretonia, for instance, is not the same as the present UK but rather an older version. Religion might thrive in such scenarios.
A proper social analysis of Sirius would be needed to answer this question properly.
Since it's just a game though, eh.
Those hellish bar decorations in bretonia always annoyed me.
Now as long I would want to bash vlad for speaking crap of nonsense and generally without any knowlange of what religion is I''ll just say. Yes there should be some kind of religion and the universal rules of behaviuor. Unlike the cultural ethics which are local rules of human behaviuor.
Chrisitianity is ethic code more than any mysticism. I think pretty same with with budism as well as Shintoism.
