doesnt look something that would scare me in space. maybe after textures.

i think its too round and curvy for phantoms. nice ship though.

It's not what I imagined for the Phantom cruiser, it looks way to peaceful:P

I like the style. but not the vertical built.
The texture and style of shaping is cool. but I just don't like vertical ships.

Umm.. did I say use the model? No.. I was simply giving an example of how spikey extentions can give a ship a more "evil" look.

its been a while - but every now and then its about making a concept for one of the more "difficult" factions.

this is an idea for the huntress cruiser - a rather small and compact and vertical cruiser. - the entire capship line could be build around that concept.

- the primary idea is to make something alien looking without making it look totally out of place
- something manacing ( well - at least i find imagining it coming out of a nebula quite manacing )


How about this then, if it is not to hard to model. Those nice rounded pedels.. stretch them out to the rear making them thinner and a little more narrow.. comming to jagged trailing edges..

I think that would really make it evil looking.

The GMS line is indeed an literal snatch and run of the EvE fighters. But it's nice to say as much right out the door.

I don't think there's anything wrong with taking inspiration. But I think it's ideal to give credit to the original work.

Not saying that's absolutely the case here. Maybe it's a total coincidence.

Can't really say anything about the actual model, since I've never seen any phantom ships ingame.

But about it being vertical: Wouldnt it be hell to fly that thing? I mean, some caps already get in the way of the camera, and most of them have a somewhat horizontal design.
But this would be WOOSH right in the center of the screen, blocking a good bit of the view.

Just saying.
