While the signature did not break any rules before, the lack of third party hosting caused your signature to take up over half of the page. Until the problem is fixed, I'll have to revert those images to links. ~Inferno

I'd like more strategic bombers, probably. I dunno, i just like them, even since they are not going to fly well in real combat.

Could you or someone send me a list of the ships in the .83 and .84 mods?

I'm going to be looking them up and send you a list of the ones that could be brought back under certain circumstances and/or slight modifications.

On a serious note - I voted Heavy Fighters, because most Heavy Fighters have a VHF model, which makes them rather easy to bust by real VHFs.

and @Boss: it can really REALLY help to read the OP ( including the edit parts ) - and if you read it and still feel to make such a comment - please try to restrain yourself and don t do in the future [...and second poll is failpoll.] (Boss)

this is not flood - such a poll serves a serious purpose - and i really cannot need witty floodlike comments here.


right now - i read the second poll as: total votes submitted - and most other players have understood the fact that the poll was wrongly set up - which still doesn t mean it has no meaning, cause the really important part is the first part. - if someone feels that NO ship must be added whatsoever - he can still leave a reply about it and abstain from voting. ( and if he is interested in the poll results - he can still "show results" without voting )





in general:

- battlecruisers: i am quite surprised that this one got so many votes - i thought the entire idea of BCs is a flawed one and they were rather unpopular.

- special ships: no real surprise there - the problem is to be creative about what they are specialized in - and also give them a real function / role in the mod.

- RP/static ships/bases: no real surprise there either - that part WILL be done in the future - until every bit of discovery space will be unique in its own way - reflecting the enviroment, political stance and possibly also technology level / economic level.

- transports: yes - the more the better - but 4.86 introduces a few more already.



* there are surprisingly few votes for bombers
* surprisingly few votes for fighters in general
* and i find it surprising that "light" gunships appear to be more appreciated than normal or heavy ones. - didn t know the bottlenose concept was such a success.

Well, the poll will not let me choose, keeps throwing an error at me when I hit the VOTE button.

In any case, I'd like to see more transports, especially ones that actually have a decent chance of fighting off 'Pirates' of all shapes and sizes.

Yes, that includes Gumboots.

Note I said 'fighting off' and not destroying.

Fighters and maybe Bombers would be space junk in a one on one fight, but you would think people who fly a GB would have enough sense to run away from a ship that is chewing them up.

I guess that would mean;

A bigger than normal transport, in order to maintain cargo hold size AND be able to have additional armor.

Possibly more turrets of a smaller class, say class 5 turrets instead of class 7 transport turrets.

Imagine a ship, say 10-15% bigger than a BWT, with a slightly smaller cargo hold, say 3200, but with heavier armor and 12 class 5 turret mounts instead of 9 class 7.

Sounds interesting to me.
