You are indeed right Rommie, only thing is putting stuff into the actual mod.
Unless folks here actually start to demand y'know, a say in things, it's up to Igiss ultimately.
If folks were to start demanding or requesting a say in things, then such a situation would change.
The mod would move from a rail roading 2.5 year long development process to a community led/heavily influenced <1 year long development process.
The <1 year being due to smaller updates more frequently, something which most folks want but Igiss dislikes.
' Wrote:That can be worked around, tbh.
The LE are trying to retcon the Brigands to make them into a combination of the Council and Maquis. A sort of third military power that also pirates when things are slow. Hence the drive towards moving away from the idea of being 'pirates' to something more in line with a traditional military faction.
haha, "retconning" is a bit exaggerated, don't you think?
In no way we want to copy any faction, especially not Maquis or Council.
Quote:LE are simply trying to adapt the Brigands to their own vision, or integrate themselves into the same
Let's leave it at that. We're adapting and adding our flavour at the same time, which should be the role of a player faction, as far as that's concerned.
Also, let's not get too off topic, let's talk about awesome ships :)
' Wrote:Function: Most ships do not fulfill their roles. For example, the bomber is as big as a heavy bomber, but has a light bomber plant (apart from being slightly asymmetrical)
Balancing has little to do with models. If some ship is not balanced properly it will change independently on the model. A new model doesn't make sure that a ship gets "better" or "worse"
The Jaguar you mention is half the height of a Falcata and shorter length, a bit larger size from top, but with "holes" in it.
It's actually very close to FA bomber turned 90 degrees... and has 5 guns firing forward.
===================
Personally I don't really see the reasons for this from the dev. side.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.

A friend of mine can tell you the exact problems with it, all I know is that it is not symmetrical, only concerning the model itself now.
EDIT: changed that argument on 1st page
' Wrote:You are the Council and the Maquis.
You do exactly what they do. You should be using those IDs and tags, not trying to change an NPC faction to suit yourself.
Wait, what?
Do they go to Tau 23 to pirate?
Do they smuggle cardamine?
Does the Council work with the Outcasts?
I can give you countless more examples that we are not Maquis/Council. You could also just read our faction info. Also, take all your criticism to our feedback thread please (located in my sig).

Then, everyone else must be "retconning"
Seriously, take this to flood/feedback if you have something to comment, stop flaming here. This is not the purpose of this thread, this thread is about Brigand ships.
What happens to the people that liked the current Brigand ships? Just wondering really. Will it happen like Nyx in 4.86? Suddenly it disappears for the masses. (Well in the Nyx's case just switches factions and IMG indies loose access to it)

Well, sorry if you are easily offended, but the Brigand's actual shipline fit their needs, no matter how the LE sees it, really. FR2 on that one.
