I like Firefox 4.01, though mainly for two reasons:
Adblock Plus:ylove:& Stumbleupon:)

I love it, it's noticeably faster than version 3. It resembles Chrome somewhat - which disgusts me.

If I wanted to use Chrome then I'll use Chrome, I didn't stick with Firefox for all these years to receive a Chrome clone. Oh look it has an integrated spellchecker too.

Ye gods.

I wish I had done it sooner.

Firefox 4 makes the old version look like it was pedal powered.

Websites that used to take a little while (read as more than a few seconds) to load, now come up almost instantly and I like what they have done with it.

The 'new look' browser doesn't have that status bar right at the bottom, so the viewable area goes right to the bottom of the screen.

Sure it's not much, but it makes a difference.

A few other little changes are that they have moved certain buttons around.

The 'home page' button is now on the far right side. I know it's the 'home page' button, because, you guessed it, it is a little house.

The 'reload page' button is now at the end of the page address bar, where you enter the address of the web site you want to be at and, this is the cool part, as the page is loading, that button turns into the 'stop loading' button.

As you can guess, I'm a little happy with the 'new' Firefox and the best bit is all of the plug-ins I had on the 'old' (3.xx) Firefox still work.

If you are still using the 'old' 3.xx version of Firefox, upgrade now, I reckon you'll be impressed.

Sounds a bit like google chrome, really.

Just remember that all 'button places' can be freely re setted.(like transfer refresh button on the old space etc' )

So now its just a matter what were You using before. Im using FireFox since I got Internet connection, and for now Im not planning to change it for something else.

Interesting. I've been running XP on a i5 quad core for a while now, sure XP IS old, but it still works.

I haven't had any problems with this current install of XP, not any that can be directly attributed to XP at any rate.

More importantly, XP will run 99% of the programs I have and some of those, like me, are getting on a bit.

I'll probably lash out and buy a copy of Win 7.... about the time Win 8 comes out.

I've always been one step behind with OS, mostly because the very latest OS normally has stabilty problems/bugs that need to be sorted, while the OLD OS has already been there done that.

XP lacks the hardware acceleration support, so it won't run as well on intensive sites. That's all I was trying to get at. Having a single core machine also doesn't help in the matter. Apologies if i was being a bit vague.

' Wrote:You're right about Windows only changes, but that's not much of a concern, the Mac style will always be like that, Ubuntu are copying the Mac style, and everything else uses a UI that isn't really that broken (running OpenSUSE as my dev box, dislike the way Ubuntu is going, Arch seems like too much effort atm).
I thought the Ubuntu repository Firefox is just a slightly modified version of the one available from Mozilla with no big GUI changes. :/
I don't like the way Ubuntu is going either, the latest Linux kernel broke VMWare's kernel modules and it's ability to update, so I can't play FL without rebooting into Windows, and I HATE Unity. Using Gnome 3 at the moment, but it sometimes freezes because of the closed source nVidia drivers.

This is a discussion for another thread, but GNOME 3 sucks compared to GNOME 2, and KDE have awful driver support for me. I'm actually thinking of using Openbox as my Window Manager, hence the OpenSUSE jump because of SUSEStudio. Felt it didn't make sense to make a custom image right off the bat without the stickiness of Arch's "pacman", as it's bad practice.:D

Thanks for posting this up here, Mickk. My Firefox never let me know about this particular release for some reason. I've noticed a significant improvement over the 3.x versions.
