geeze guys hes asking a good question stop flamming and trolling, its a good question, i wonder that myself, oh and fyi, it just means he would like an answer that is verified by an admin, why does it hurt to ask that?

There was a complaint because your signature violated forum rule 1. Specifically:
Quote:Adult content or links to adult content; This includes any anime that is in any way slightly graphic or pornographic;
So it's been removed.

No one is flaming and no one is trolling. If you want an answer that is verified by an admin. Use the search feature. Its been discussed before. It would probably be far more better as you'd be able to read the past discussion over it, as opposed to an admin merely dropping in and commenting.

Until an admin can come here and say it, I'll try to explain this as simply as I can;

You may dock and then reengage unless the person/people you were fighting sees you dock. Anyone else seeing you dock doesn't matter, it only matters if the people you were actually fighting saw you dock. Leaving scanner range doesn't mean the fight is over. Docking on a planet, outside of his scanner range, does end the fight. You can return to that fight, but you need to make sure to give an engagement notice/prior RP before shooting.

okidoki, thanks dab, and deadric I dont know about flaming or trolling, but you were being rude. I didnt want to bring this up, certain players accused me of certain things which forced me to clarify it.

If Dab was right, then I was in the right.

That was my group - one of our company escorts engaged you - you fled when a second joined in the party - said escorts chased you into New London (from leeds) where you docked to escape. In this case, the second escort (who joined in) followed and saw you dock, while the first escort wasnt present, if i remember.

Didnt screenshot the docking though, so its all a moot point - as well, we wanted to kill you in Leeds to keep you out of Leeds. I also had an escort, but didnt chase you, because, again, we wanted to glack you in Leeds, not New London.

Either way, thats our side of the story. And i advised escort 2 that docking while engaged in pvp is considered a pvp death.

The reason people cant rely on "common sense" deadric is because it doesnt work in this game, the admins create ridiculous rules which defy all common sense, and people take the rules and use every interpretation they can think of to get their way - no-one is unbiased, and even admins make mistakes, and are inconsistent - everyone's human.

As for you Dane, Id be interested to know if you agree my first post summed it up accuratly?

Yeah, it kinda does. Pretty bare bones, but yeah - i just added clarification. Either way, i was in Leeds on another eagle, trying to get a plan together to get you back into leeds so we could kill you - i wasnt there. And since we have no screenies, its all just talk, anyway.

As per the example of Dane's group vs yours;

If there was more than one opponent in the fight, if any of the people directly involved in that fight witness you dock, than that means you are fleeing and cannot reengage.

Exception to this is people who were on your side can see you dock and it doesn't count as fleeing. So if 3 BAF vs 3 Mollys, 2 BAF run to a planet and one docks, it doesn't matter that the other BAF saw you dock, as he wasn't an opponent, but an ally. In that situation, only the Mollys witnessing you dock would be important.

It does work, you just refuse to turn it on and let it. If the rules are so hard to understand and so hard to follow, how come I've never been sanctioned?

People will always find loop holes in every set of rules. No set of rules is air tight. There will always be people who deem to find said loop holes and exploit them, get used to it.

In my experience, if I am killed or think that I may have died in PvP but wish to keep playing, guess what I do? I ask the person who killed me or who I was fighting if they mind if I stay on my character and keep playing. I've never once been told to shove it and deal with the PvP death. If they let me return to the system they killed me in, I don't go after them either. It is a courtesy as they let me back there so I'm not going to bother them.

I don't see why so many people are afraid of being sanctioned, most of the punishments for mundane rule violations aren't harsh and there is no negative stigma attached to you unless you were sanctioned for being an dick to another player or some other malicious rule violation.

If you don't understand a rule, use the search feature to research into it first. You will have a better understanding if you read a past discussion over if someone merely told you yes or no. If you don't find anything, ask your question; but do not direct it purely at the admins and demand that only an admin's response will satisfy you. There are plenty of veteran players who are perfectly able to answer your question.
