drop down battleship's ability is not a good way to prevent battleship spawming and whoring..my idea is we should make a rules that is controls how many battleship allow to fight in a battle.
Meh...if someone wants to bring a bunch of capital ships with no fighter support, let them. And if they all get killed by very heavy fighters/bombers, then oops, that's your fault for bringing nothing to stop the fighters.
i hear a lot about it - but is the battleship whoring really that bad? - mostly i see the smaller ships - destroyers, cruisers, gunboats. but i rarely really see many battleships engage.
in my opinion, Battleship should handle alot of fighter..

because gunboats and cruisers are way more batter than battleship......and in a battleship shooting fighters and bombers are so painful.....
3 bombers once almost took Warhammer down although 4VHFs were defending him...
2VHFs vs 2VHFs usually means a 30+ min fight... With a BS unable to avoid shots on it, and unhittable small bombers with a lot of B/Bs in 90% its no matter what defends the BS....
Yes... battleships should be a checkmate move. They aren't.
Their numbers will be restricted greatly - the introduction of a BS license is imo an excellent idea. 3 BSs per faction, no freelancin' juggernauts and we're all good. If only those ships still in service could really make a difference... not being swarmed by a few bombers.
I think that 1 BS per player rule should do many things... I have just 1 Battleship, and I don't intend to build more. If I want to use another BS type, I will go freelancing (switch factions), not build a new ship... And it's quite unfair for a Freelancer to be restricted to have a capital ship of his own... it ruins all the fun... It's Freelancer after all:)
