Chalons-en-Champagne was built in 709 A.S. on the orbit of Planet Marne, to serve as a luxurious orbital facility for corporate directors who did not wish to live planetside. The station was captured by the Council in 798 A.S., shortly after Reims was captured in a similar fashion. The Council was quick to convert Chalons-en-Champagne into a ship-building facility, grafting on makeshift moorings capable of refitting and repairing Council ships of almost any class.
