CLASS: Akhetaten

CREW: CLASSIFIED

ARMAMENT: CLASSIFIED

The LNS Amarna is one of the pioneers of Liberty’s newest cutting-edge technological breakthrough - the Akhetaten-class advanced battlecruiser. Constructed at the classified high-security drydocks of the Chesapeake Shipyard in the Alaska system and built over a five-year development cycle in collaboration with Ageira Technologies and select Naval R&D divisions, the Amarna represents a paradigm shift in Liberty’s capital ship doctrine. Unlike traditional dreadnoughts focused purely on firepower, the Akhetaten-class emphasizes fleet coordination, sensor dominance, and electronic warfare capabilities, acting as a force multiplier for battlegroups and forward deployments.

Now stationed in the orbit of Planet Gunnison, the Amarna serves a dual purpose: publicly, it is a demonstration of Liberty’s commitment to internal security and border integrity in the face of escalating tensions; privately, it is part of a broader strategic posture aimed at countering Kusari intelligence incursions and covert fleet movements. With increasing reports of unauthorized surveillance and signal disruptions traced back toward the Kepler and Galileo corridors, the Navy has chosen Colorado as a central point to reassert control and readiness - and the Amarna is at the forefront of that effort. Its presence has already prompted diplomatic inquiries and visible restraint from civilian Kusari-aligned corporations operating in Liberty space.

As one of the first active vessels of its class, the LNS Amarna is equipped with next-generation sensor suites, dynamic shield harmonics, long-range tactical uplinks, and a new-generation command AI system optimized for fleet integration. Its modular configuration allows rapid adaptation to evolving combat conditions, while a reinforced core allows it to act as a mobile command center even deep in contested territory. Though designed with future conflicts in mind, its deployment in peacetime underscores Liberty's determination to maintain technological superiority and strategic awareness in a shifting political landscape. The Amarna is more than a warship - it is a clear signal to the rest of Sirius displayed as a show of strength.

[835 AS] Hinsdale Refinery fully operational

HINSDALE REFINERY -- 835 AS -- Executives from Deep Space Engineering have cut the ribbon on the newest Platinum-processing line at Hinsdale Refinery. This officially launches full operations at the largest ore-processing refinery in Colorado since the collapse of the industry over two centuries ago. This comes mere weeks after the Liberty Supreme Court ruled in DSE’s favor over the long-running Galileo Platinum dispute; Kusari vehemently opposes the ruling. The opening was marked by a significant security presence, largely driven by the increased tensions with the Kusari Empire.

[834 AS] Pathfinders probe Kepler

KEPLER -- 834 -- Kepler was abandoned following cataclysmic Dark Matter storms, however it is known that safe passages through the storm exist -- raising fears they could be abused as an unsecured back door into Colorado by Liberty’s enemies. As a result, LSF agents have begun to carry out mapping exercises using teamed units of experienced pathfinders and remote drones. These efforts have already borne fruit, with several Kusari agents being intercepted and destroyed while carrying dangerous Alien Artifacts. It is believed there may still be an active Jump Hole to Shikoku nearby.

[834 AS] Nomad presence confirmed in Inverness

TUSCALOOSA -- 834 -- Contact has been made with Nomad entities, confirming our suspicions that Inverness is the epicenter of the infestation. Excelsus squadron was forced to retreat from the East Avlemore Nebula after taking heavy casualties from cruiser-class Nomad lifeforms. This is the first time Nomads of that size have been detected in the Independent Worlds, marking a radical shift in doctrine. Additionally, the ambush was executed using Jump Drive technology. This is the first time such capabilities have been observed, and the timing of this development cannot be ignored. A report has been made, briefing the President on the possibility of Kusari’s subversion by the Nomads; countermeasure proposals are being drawn up for approval.

[834 AS] Anomaly detected in Ontario

CHESAPEAKE -- 834 -- Spy satellites in Ontario have detected a hyperspace pulse matching the signature of Earhart structures and The Blackout. Before the sensors burnt out, data was relayed indicating the transmission source was Planet Sudbury. Due to the potential implications of an uncontained Earhart site, and the presence of numerous hostile entities locally, it is vital that the LSF gains access to the system and secures any Artifacts or anomalies immediately. An Ageira and DSE taskforce has already been assembled to determine the best course for re-establishing a jump link using abandoned Gate infrastructure. Once a solution has been agreed, the Battlecruiser Lehigh will be provisioned for the trip from California and dispatched to secure a safe zone for emergency works.

[833 AS] Liberty draws down forces in Crayter territory

YUMA -- 833 -- Liberty has announced the end of the Battlecruiser Yellowstone’s tour of Coronado, where it has spent several years targeting drug smugglers in the dangerous Barrier Pass. President Hawthorne has reportedly lost patience with indefinite foreign deployments of Liberty forces, and ordered the ship to be withdrawn to bolster domestic piracy and smuggling suppression in California. A Department of Defense spokesman stated, “we have for many years provided the Crayter Republic with the training and material support needed to police their territory. We have faith they will be up to the task”. The Yellowstone’s withdrawal comes as Deep Space Engineering deepens its own investments in Coronado, with the expansion of the Scottsdale Refinery.

[833 AS] LPI commissioner sentenced following Erie probe

PLANET ERIE -- 833 -- Helen O’Shea, Pennsylvania’s former LPI Commissioner, has been sentenced on corruption charges over the mismanagement of Erie’s planetary internment camps. The facilities were constructed to temporarily hold prisoners from the Liberty Insurgency while the courts cleared sentencing backlogs. Following allegations of human trafficking, the LSF launched a major investigation, discovering that as many as 10 percent of inmates were suspected of having been sold to traffickers. O’Shea is the latest and most high profile prosecution to date, and is expected to serve a ten year sentence at a minimum security penitentiary on Planet Los Angeles.

[831 AS] Gate corps clash over 'Blackout'!

ABBEVILLE -- 831 AS -- EFL's 'Resilience Taskforce' today reported its findings on The Blackout, claiming to have gathered forensic evidence that proved the cause as Ageira negligence. A spokesperson claimed that the destruction of the Dublin Jump Gate by Molly separatists had created a hyperspace feedback loop that was propagated and amplified through the Ageira gate network.

Ageira disputed this finding in their own press release, calling EFL 'fantasists' and countering that their own scientists had narrowed the cause to a rare 'hypernova' stellar event that originated outside the Sirius sector. Both corporations claim that network-wide hardware safeguards have been implemented that would prevent a similar occurrence in the future. Independent researchers have sharply criticized the corporate announcements, accusing both of self-interested misdirection.

Professor Sophia Nagel from Heisenberg Research Station called EFL's accusation 'incoherent' and the hypernova explanation 'nonsense' that did not explain the characteristics of the 'Blackout Pulse'. Despite multiple different Pulse recordings being widely disseminated across the neural net, public efforts have so far failed to triangulate its source.

[831 AS] Pulse phenomenon linked to Blackout

AMES RESEARCH STATION -- 831 -- Independent researchers have announced that a hyperspace pulse of unprecedented strength was detected moments before The Blackout, destroying many of the sector’s most sensitive and finely tuned observatories. Surviving data about 'The Pulse' has been widely shared across the neural net in recent days, prompting mass speculation. Professor Katsuma Oster of Ames Research Station described the signal as “astounding”. “These readings are unprecedented, as if reality itself were struck like a gong.” House authorities have remained tight lipped, refusing to share their own observatories' data.

[831 AS] 'Blackout' causes jump network failure

MANHATTAN -- 831 AS -- Two days ago Jump Gates failed simultaneously across Sirius, freezing commerce and neural net access across the sector. When communications resumed 31 hours later, the news broke of Bretonia's loss of the Dublin system. This twin shock has plunged markets into chaos, prompting fears of sector-wide economic recessions. Interspace estimates that the stoppage alone caused billions of credits in losses. Gallia immediately accused Liberty of causing the outage, claiming the destruction of Dublin's Jump Gate instigated a cascading failure in faulty Ageira infrastructure. Ageira has sharply refuted the allegation, claiming such a systemic effect would be physically impossible.

[830 AS] Liberty annexes Planet Erie

PLANET ERIE -- 830 -- The Liberty Navy has launched Operation PESTICIDE to annex Pennsylvania, following the collapse of talks between Liberty and Zoner authorities. President Hawthorne declared that Liberty could no longer tolerate a "lawless frontier" within its very core, and that the Zoners had repeatedly refused to extradite criminals and terrorists from the Pennsylvania protectorate. The recent destruction of an LSF satellite was the straw that broke the camel's back. Militias congregating around Planet Erie were routed following the Zoner Carrier Pinnacle’s destruction. The Battleship Alma then secured Erie’s orbit and landed Marines to impose Liberty law on Lake City. Surviving militants have vowed to resist Erie’s occupation.

[830 AS] Trouble in paradise on Erie

PLANET ERIE -- 830 AS -- Since the destruction of Williamstown Depot near Planet Tremont, Liberty and Erie's autonomous Zoner government have been locked in a standoff. Liberty has long suspected the Insurgency attack on its logistics station was facilitated by informants on Erie, and has accused the Zoners of allowing Insurgency and Xeno operatives to roam the planet with "impunity". This morning, a missile streaked from Erie's wilderness, shooting down an orbiting LSF satellite that had been tracking "terrorist activities". Liberty has accused Zoner militias of the attack, and ordered Erie authorities to hand over the perpetrators, and all Insurgency affiliates. Zoners have denied responsibility, calling the attack a “Liberty false flag”.

[829 AS] Navy bloodied by Pennsylvania strike

WILLIAMSTOWN DEPOT -- 829 -- The Liberty Navy have been struck an embarrassing blow in their campaign to scour the Insurgency from the Independent Worlds. The Navy has been carrying out combat operations across Kansas, but staging its forces and logistics from Pennsylvania. In an attempt to disrupt the Navy’s inevitable advance towards their heartlands, the Insurgency launched a surprise raid on Williamstown Depot. Liberty authorities have tersely commented that search and rescue efforts are still ongoing, but it appears the fuel and munitions store detonated after being struck by multiple torpedoes. When asked for comment, President Hawthorne stated simply that she would not discuss ongoing combat operations.

[828 AS] Tau Turbulence

FREEPORT 6 -- 828 AS -- After decades of constant warfare and shifts in dominance - the balance of power within the Tau sector has once again been reset. With the most recent conclusion of a brief yet bitter invasion by Kusari into Gallic space, the Taus have seen a rapid destabilization along the shattered Gallic defenses and Kusari borders. Coupled with a Bretonia still reeling from economic desolation by the Gallic invasion only a few years prior, the Taus have become something of a no-man's-land between the depleted militaries of the Gallic, Kusari, and Bretonian empires. In the aftermath of the decisive end of the Kusari-Gallic war, the once dominant Gallia pulled almost all its strength back to Gallia to repel the Kusari invasion, leaving in their wake a sector more independent than ever.

At present, no house stands to conclusively fill the vacuum of power in the Taus, clouding the future to secure exploitation of its rich natural resources in ambiguity. Following the withdrawal of Kusari from Tau-23 after the final confrontation in Languedoc, the lanes within the system seem to have been subject to sabotage, and Gallia has released a public statement that Orkney would instead be favored over Tau-23 for the route to Tau-31, likely owing to Orkney being the last major Tau system that Gallia holds bases in. Niobium futures have ballooned in response to plummeting consumer confidence in stable Niobium extraction, resulting in vicious multinational corporate and paramilitary competition over Tau resource exploitation. The Taus are now a lawless battleground of conflicting corporate interests, small scale military skirmishes, and pirate incursions, all scrambling for a piece of Niobium.

Given the thorough depletion of military might and expansionist ambitions in the surrounding devastated houses, chances are low that the Taus will find themselves tamed by a lawful house in the foreseeable future.

[823 AS] Liberty and Rheinland formally end conflict

NEW BERLIN -- 823 -- President Powell and Chancellor Neumann have signed the Treaty of Atka formally ending the state of war between their two Houses. 6 years of devastating conflict has seen tens of thousands killed and both Houses severely economically damaged. The agreement sees Rheinland cede all claims on Planet Atka, while Hudson and Bering are split in half, creating two security zones. The boundary between these two zones remains neutral territory, to be policed by the Bounty Hunters Guild under a joint contract. In return, Liberty has agreed to immediately end all economic sanctions, and fund 85% of the Jump Gate cleanup and reconstruction project.

[817 AS] Liberty Declares Border Security Zone

HUDSON -- 817 -- In a significant escalation to ongoing tensions, Liberty has established a Border Security Zone in the two Independent Worlds of Bering and Hudson. President Powell announced that the Liberty Navy will maintain a blockade along what Liberty deems its zone of control. This is purportedly to prevent intrusions by the Rheinland Military, and thwart attempts to facilitate terrorist attacks in Liberty territory. All civilian shipping bound for Liberty through the affected systems are now being stopped for mandatory inspections. Rheinland has furiously condemned the move as military aggression, and called the deployment a flagrant violation of the Boorman Treaty.

[805 AS] Houses ratify Denver Convention

PLANET DENVER -- 805 -- President Jacobi has thanked House delegates for attending a much anticipated summit on Planet Denver. The President requested the meeting shortly after the Colony Wars’ conclusion, however progress was blocked when Kusari refused to attend alongside Rheinland. With those issues now resolved, talks were held on a range of issues including economic recovery, naval limits, and joint security. Notably, the ratified Denver Convention upheld laws tightly restricting the trade of alien Artifacts, and explicitly prohibited research on “live” Artifacts. Several clauses were ultimately removed from the Convention, with provisions on border world resource exploitation being dropped over Bretonian and Kusari disagreements.

Rumors

Liberty Security Force
  • We’ve been rotating a lot of supply crates marked 'technical components' from Liberty’s high-clearance contractors lately - Cryer, Ageira, even some off-book transfers. Nothing illegal, not exactly, but no manifests attached either. When you see high-volume traffic like that moving through a ship on extended station duty, it usually means two things: someone up the chain is building something, and they don’t want it logged.

  • People assume serving on a ship like this means cutting-edge warfare, high-adrenaline deployments. Truth is, most of my day is spent reconfiguring scan filters and recalibrating for micro-interference from trade traffic. That’s what ‘advanced systems’ actually mean. Higher expectations, less tolerance for noise. And when intelligence gives us a name or a ship to watch, we’d better be ready to spot it through a thousand signatures in real time. No margin for error.

  • When we moved the Amarna into Colorado, someone on the comms deck thought it’s just a PR stunt. But it’s not. Our long-range arrays pick up signals the outposts can’t. A few days ago, we caught a tight-beam burst near Pueblo that wasn’t on any registry. I flagged it. Might be nothing, might be someone feeding intel across the border. Either way, this ship’s not here for show. We’re listening, and someone out there’s talking.
